# Worst things about a 3-day holiday weekend?!
Getting a stupid stomach bug the very day you were set to do something different and actually leave the damn house for a change...
Now I'm home alone, with this stupid constant nag on my belly that just won't go away, and I'm freakin' bored out my brains!!!
Oh world, why do you hate me so???
# I'm starting to realize I'm not the same movie geek I used to be!
Maybe it's the job, I dunno... but anyway, I've only managed to go the movies twice in the last month - one for Toy Story 3 and the other for Eclipse.
Toy Story 3 I liked more than I thought I would! It's so sweet and so tender... it trully made me wanna be a kid again! I loved it!
I also enjoyed Eclipse a great deal! It is BY FAR the best Twilight film and it's actually a real decent, solid, good film! I was really really surprised by it!
. The story actually managed to stay cheese-free! I'm serious... all those cheesy moments from the last 2 films were totally m.i.a... even on those when they added direct lines from the book! In this, they all worked!
. Believe it or not, the acting is WAYYYYYY better! From everybody!
As for the newbies... I mean, Bryce Dallas Howard is brilliant! So of course she was good in this too... but HELLOOOO, Xavier Samuel! In what part of the Outback have you been hiding??? He was the biggest surprise for me! Riley was so creepy and sweet and mysterious, all at once! The guy is good, y'all! I'll so be keeping my eye on him now...
. I remember someone mentioning here on LJ that they finally saw the Bella and Edward from the book on screen... SO TRUE! The chemistry was finally there!
It's like they were totally different people! Unbelievable...
. The amount of Alice/Jasper in it made me squee all over! They're the cutest and they are simply adorable in this one...
. The special effects?! Amazing! For real... really good!
. The soundtrack?! Best of the 3! ... And the score?! Howard Shore is a god!!! So good!
... I also did manage to watch a slightly crappy cam version of The Last Airbender at home this week!
di_br got me interested in the animated series, so I watched a bunch of eps and really liked it!
But I think that was my mistake... cuz I would've probably liked the movie a bit more... it's not TOTAL crap! But I was expecting so much, it had so much potential... and it fell flat!
. The effects and the overall look of the film is actually pretty good! I mean, esthetically speaking, it's a real pretty film! Very nice to look at...
. The best bit of the film for me?! The music score! I don't know who wrote it, but it is GORGEOUS!!!
. But now... The story?! Yikes! It's not good! Really not good...
It's sooooo rushed and so confusing! They've cut down so much and mixed a bunch of others, it got really weird! And they don't explain a bunch of things which I believed to be pretty important to plot in a whole!
. The acting was so incredibly disappointing!
I mean, I have to give props to Dev Patel (who plays Zuko) and Shaun Toub (uncle Iroh), who are actually IN character and do a fine acting job. And the kid that plays Aang is not totally bad either, but he's not really the Aang he should be... the rest of the actors... they all fail! Badly!
I had so much hope for Jackson Rathbone in this film, specially after what he's done in Eclipse, where he was really good in... he really is a real good actor, I've seen him in other stuff...
But as Sokka?! He did what he could, but the story pretty much killed the character! Sokka is my favorite character and he was just gone! That made me really sad...
# Fandom wise... I've been trying to work on my vidding lately and maybe do some new graphics, but I pretty much suck at it lately!
I've tried making a new Doctor Who vidlet, but it didn't really work out... I do have a couple of ideas left (one for DW and another one for Merlin) but I can't make any promises! I'll try, I really will...
As for graphics, I reeeeaally wanna make a fake poster for "Incarceron"!
It is gonna be a movie, they sold the rights and all... and the book is freakin' AWSOME! I need to find me some pictures and come up with a proper casting for it... but I really wanna do it!
Meanwhile... all I managed to make was a re-design of the book cover =)
(just added the actors and slightly altered the colors... nothing much! *blushes*)
# The soundtrack of my life lately have been the new albums from Emarosa and Boyce Avenue!
Seriously... that's pretty much all I've listened to lately... love it, love it, love it!
# Last but not least... I can't believe The World Cup is ending!!!
That stupid Octopus shattered my little German dreams of victory... so now I've turned into a Holland supporter!
Don't get me wrong... I like Spain! Heck, I've got Spanish blood running in my veins... but I believe Holland has a better team!
But the Octopus is already saying Spain is winning, so... but whatever! It's gonna be an awsome final game!!!
