Thanksgiving pictures galore under the cut.
The day started off by visiting Melissa and John in Coral Springs. Issa's mom lives there, they live in Chapel Hill, NC. They are two of my closest friends-- we've been friends since '93, when I started college together. There was a group of 7 or 8 of us - we were inseparable.
We had a really nice drive home - it only took about 3 hours, which was good. We were supposed to be back by 5 pm for dinner and my cousin and her family beat us there, actually! Here are some pictures from the to-do at my mother's last night.
The bird comes out of the oven. It looked wonderful and it tasted SO good. Wow. In the pic are Luis, his new wife Karito and my mom. I had much more of a chance to speak to Karito last night, which was good because I wasn't connecting with her much before. But last night we talked quite a bit and it was pretty nice, actually.
Pies and other good stuff. I made the pumpkin one. My mom made the apple ones. Luis made the key lime. Lyanne brought some tamales and pastellitos from Miami.
Carlos, Carlitos and Lyanne at the table.
Lyanne, my Dad, Karito.
After dinner misbehavin'
Lyanne, Mom and I.
This picture describes our relationship perfectly. Brat was pulling my hair. SO not cool!
