Okay, everyone, false alarm. Whoo! I feel like doing that thing that everyone does when they are on Grizzly River Rafting or Splash Mountain or other rides like that...and they scream as they are falling but then they hit and get all wet and go "Whoo!" and slap their knees and laugh and talk about how wet they got. Think about it for a second. You will know what I'm talking about.
Well, what happened with the phones was a total miscommunication. I don't know why no one was picking up their cell phones. That definitely wasn't my fault. However, I suppose I could have taken a closer look at my phone when I plugged it in. Okay, so in order for my phone to light up and play "Rock Around The Clock" it has to be plugged into not only the phone jack, but the electrical outlet as well. I swear to God I had changed my phone from the song to the normal ringer before I left, and I'm guessing the switch got turned on while the phone was shifting around with the rest of my stuff. It doesn't require plugging in when it is just set to ringer. Anyway, the reason my phone wasn't ringing was because, like I mentioned before, it was set to play the song. Then, I started thinking it was a little fishy that my voicemail box number was different than my extension, so I tried checking the voicemail box that matched with my extension, and sure enough, my mailbox was chock full of messages from my family, wondering where in the blue blazes I had gone to. So my mother was worried about me and I was worried about my mother...but we are happy now.
Now, for the textbook situation. I found out after a couple of days here that most everyone had their books already, or at least knew what books they needed. This disturbed me. I didn't know a damn thing. I also found out that by the time I tried to order my books, they didn't do the prepay thing at the bookstore anymore, and so I had to buy all of my books there. It was also more expensive because most of the books there were new. That sucked, but at least I have books. I also got a copy of Fast Food Nation pretty much just so I can have Eric Schlosser sign it tonight. Maybe I'll really like it. Who knows? Mandy loved it. She is the one who told me I had to see Eric Schlosser speak tonight.
As far as Reynold goes, I finally got him to the doctor today. I had to leave him there because they said my problem was a bit complicated and it would take a while to fix it, but they are going to call me as soon as they figure out anything. I hope my baby is okay, and I hope I don't lose all of my data. I will seriously cry if I lose that faerie story. That is so important to me...it's a piece of me, dammit! And a big one at that! Anyway, I'm praying, and I hope when they call me they will have good news.
I'm still a little worried about my crush, but I think it will all work out for the best. A lot of people have come to believe that he actually likes me. Well, I'm not convinced. Not because he has done anything to make me believe he dislikes me, but just because I know my luck with men. As far as I know, he is not one to lead people on, but he is also extremely friendly. I don't know what he thinks of me, but if nothing else, I think that we could be really awesome friends. He is the first guy I have really liked that I have felt really comfortable talking to, and I get a sense that he feels like he can talk to me as well, which is always valuable. I don't know, but I'm just hoping that this period doesn't last too long...you know, that period of uncertainty. I hate wondering and wondering whether or not there is anything there. If he does care about me, I would like to know. I wouldn't mind taking it slowly and getting to be good friends first, but I don't like being so unsure. If he doesn't care about me that way, I would appreciate him telling me, and I would just hope that I could not be too hurt about it for too long. I do not want another Tyler case on my hands.
I think all I need to do now once the Reynold situation is cleared up is walk around Orange for a while looking for all of that stuff Nick told me to find. Then I need to find some good bus routes to the Disneyland area and get over to the Disney Employment Center, turn in a resume and work on getting myself a job on the Jungle Boat Cruise, or something of that sort. I'll keep y'all updated. For now, I've got to shower before I hit PreCalc class. Ick.
