You know it - they've got more sheep than people over there! What is it, like... 100 to 1? I forget the exact numbers, but know it's some ridiculous amount. The New Zealanders wouldn't stand a chance. ...and from thence - THE WORLD!

Maybe the girl whose leg Simon re-attached was actually a powerful demon, and his namesake is one of the Four Hamsters of the Apocalypse. And the others are, like, Acid Reflux, Papercuts, and Staff Retreat.

Hahaha, I didn't even think about the Cylon thing when I made it. It does kinda look like them! Or at least what I've seen of them in icons and the like. I've never actually seen more than a minute of BSG in a row, since I can't stand the cinematography. Nevertheless, EVERYONE ON MY FLIST KEEPS GOING ON ABOUT IT LATELY and I finally caved and downloaded the 2003 miniseries. Which maybe I'll attempt to watch. Later. *cough*

I cannot recommend the miniseries and season 1 enough. They are fucking amazing (even with the lack of zombies). Season 2 is also pretty awesome. Season 3 has bored me, after the first 4 eps.

But miniseries and season 1? THEY ROCK.

It was quite possibly the ugliest kitten Ziva had ever seen. Poor thing was half-starved, half-blind, and totally miserable. While she wasn't surprised at its condition--hell, they were little better some days--Ziva didn't know why Tony had brought it back to their shelter, instead of kindly putting it out of its suffering.

Oh god, she thought, surely he's not planning on eating it! Swallowing distastefully, she asked, "Why do you have a kitten?"

"Oh, come on Ziva, you know I've always loved pussy... cats," Tony quickly included that final word, with a quick and wary glance to their (former) boss, Gibbs, who pretended not to hear them in favour of checking Abby's leg wound.

She'd got shot--just a graze, thank god--days earlier, when a foraging mission went south. Abs was doing okay; she'd be doing better if they'd had Ducky, but he was gone. So many were gone, lost and blown away, Ziva's mind sang a snatch of an old tune ( ... )

This is not my fandom (I think I've seen one episode), so I don't know the characters, but I really like the bleak background you've drawn here - and the reminder that sometimes people need something more than other people, if they're going to keep going!

Heh, much like BSG & Torchwood for me. I realised after I'd written that it wasn't one of your fandoms, but it's what called me for whatever reason. And it's odd, 'cause I don't feel like I wrote the story, but that the story wrote itself and just used me to get out there. *shrugs*

I pimped this in my lj (since I wrote something, how could I not) but I don't think my f-list is interested. Which is sad.

But hey, you don't mind if I post my fic elsewhere, do you?

I realised after I'd written that it wasn't one of your fandoms, but it's what called me for whatever reason.

It's not problem - I wanted this to be multifandom, absolutely, not just my fandoms! I just thought it was a fun idea, and thought that others might as well :D
