Would anyone mind teaching me how to care for a plant?

[Zero had been mulling it over for some time and he finally decided to purchase a flower to care for. He wanted to understand nature a bit better for some...important reasons. I guess not, but there's still something separating me from understanding nature. Of course, that was the point in getting plant in the first place...
