[There's blood. A sea of blood as far as the eye can see, even the sky is a deep shade of red, only indistinguishable from the sea by the rippling occurring in it, revealing various body parts hidden just below the sickeningly depths.
In the center of all this is a slab of stone--the edge of a ruined building. On this slab is Kamui, looking lifeless.
Standing behind him, with an arm around his waist, is Fuuma. Only it's not either of the Fuumas on the Crucible. This is the Fuuma from his universe. The Fuuma who he really did grow up with, who he inadvertently sent down a path of destruction, who he wanted to save, who he ultimately wound up killing. This Fuuma has a nasty cut across his throat, still bleeding, staining his clothes and hands. Somehow, he is still able to speak clearly despite this.]
Is this what you wanted?
[Kamui can't speak. It's his nightmares come alive, the nightmares he's been trying to escape for months now. He doesn't react to the way Fuuma rests his chin on his shoulder and nuzzles the side of his head in a manner that, if it weren't for the gruesome surroundings and the blood he's covered in, could have been construed as affectionate.
Kamui doesn't react to this. His eyes are focused on the sea, lifeless. The sea ripples enough a few severed heads are identifiable: Sorata. Kotori. Arashi. Yuzuriha. Hinoto. Keiichi's mother. His mother. Others. Many others. Too many to count, but each one a stab in Kamui's heart just the same.]
I see. So that is what you wish now.
[Fuuma's other hand snakes up Kamui's side and across his chest, only to rest just above his heart. Still, Kamui doesn't react.]
And this is the cause. You always were too gentle for your own good. You should know better than anyone you can't turn back time, you can't change the decisions you've made.
[He leans in close to Kamui with a gentle smile and whispers in his ear:] But I can ease your suffering.
[His fingers dig in suddenly, tearing through skin, scraping against bone, going for Kamui's heart. Kamui cries out, drawing back against Fuuma, but after a few moments, shuts his eyes, pleads with Fuuma to stop it stop it stopitstopitstopit, but doesn't fight anymore. Doesn't even cry. Just silently takes it while Fuuma digs into him with the smile he had when they were children and protected Kamui. That smile kills Kamui more than the hand slowly digging its way into his body, what forces him to silently let the tears fall.]
