A few days ago, it was my parent's birthday and my siblings and I brought them out to the Soup Restaurant at Jurong Point for dinner. For my part, I was tasked to get a cake for them.
Now, I'm not a good chooser of cakes, so I just picked one at random that looked good to me. I wandered over to Polar Cakes too, but their selection looked stale and dry, so I eventually got a cake from Prima Deli, a Chocolate Cream cake to be exact.
Dinner was uneventful and everyone liked the chocolate cake, to my relief.
Then, a day after the incident, I read on the news that Prima Deli were pulling their produce off the shelves, due to a possible contamination of their products and one of the affected items were Chocolate Cream cakes. A few days later, Prima Deli announced that they were closing all their outlets and opening a hot-line for those who were affected to make claimants, pretty decent of them. One of the affected items even came from the Jurong Point outlet, where I purchased the cake.
Whoops?
However, nothing happened to my family and I, during and after the incident. Some say it's a fluke that I got the cake that wasn't infected, or that Lady Luck was smiling on me that day. I believe that it was something totally different.
