I am SICK of GovPol. Really, really genuinely sick to death of it.
I don't care about Liberal philosophies in the 19th century, or about the differences between Classical and Progressive Liberalism.
I don't care about the ideological struggle between One Nation and New Right Conservatism.
I don't care about the definition of Blair's Third Way, or about what the difference is between Democratic Socialism and Social Democracy.
I REALLY don't care about Green Politics, or about light versus dark green policies.
Not only do I not care about these things, I don't know anything about them either. I don't know how to learn them, and I don't know how to go about applying them to the kinds of stupid questions that pop up on exam papers.
Whilst we're on the subject of stuff I don't care about, may I throw into the ring my levels of not caring about:
Durkheim's 1897 study of suicide
Right and Left Realism
Anything ever said, written or thought by Steven Box about anything ever, but specifically in relation to crime and deviance.
The entire sociology synoptic module crime and deviance syllabus.
Every single one of these things is mind numbingly, soul crushingly, heart breakingly boring, and if I never have to think about them again I will die a happy woman.
