"He makes an evocative face that lifts the corners of Stevie's mouth. He imagines the wildest thing Xabi's ever done was to sneak back into the house, past his parents' bedroom at midnight on school nights. He's wrong, but he doesn't know it." And how he will discover that he's wrong, mmmmmmm??
"He's not yet completely mastered the art of snatching fragments of coherence from Carra's jaws"...hilarious!!!!! I can imagine the lad face in that time trying to descipher WTF they're saying...hahaha... O.O
*I* still don't always know WTF Carra's saying most of the time...
I love how everyone latched onto that one little detail about Xabi still living with his parents until he was 23... My readers have dirty minds... I like it. ;)
Hee. I'm glad you decided to give it a try thanks to Fat New Yorker Xabi. He's the only reason this story exists, that's how I got the idea... It almost makes me sad that I'm now slimming him down (what with the squash and all that), I'll miss him.
Maybe Xabi's wild Donostia days deserve a separate story of their own. Yes, he was a dork, but I'll just let my readers' imagination roam further than Stevie's on that one...
As much as I enjoy baby!Xabi's quiet, timid facade and Stevie's innocent conception of him, I adore their subtle, cautiously explored chemistry that's almost embarrassed of itself. Very touching to my sentimental little heart! :)
"So I don't miss it that much. And Liverpool is... well... is special..." - Of course it is! And he belonged perfectly there, as we know from the brooding pictures by the dock...
I'm team Junkie!Xabi, can't wait to see how exactly he ended up in the clutches of addiction.. It makes sense that he would, though, the control freak that he is, who likes to indulge to excess at times... ;) I'm glad that he got himself together enough to accept Stevie's job offer (or maybe he needed it to find a goal in life again? Awww...) and take it seriously and, well, work on his shape too... ;)
I'm telling you, I'm already starting to miss Fat!Xabi... Maybe he'll still keep the sexy love handles and just lose some of the chunk...
By all accounts, that's exactly how they were around each other so the flashbacks are pretty easy to write, plus I don't have to wring my poor little brain for a plot...
