So. . . last night I went to the BEST show of my life. Easily tops all of them. Would you like to know why? This is why:

Top bands of the night(ascending order)
Explosions in the Sky/The Wrens- A tie, as they are both one of my favorite bands of all time, and they both rocked and post-rocked (hehe) like no other. My only complaint is that they ( Read more... )

i am jealous that you saw The Wrens and Xiu Xiu. You introduced me to The Wrens, and i am eternally grateful. Sounds like an awesome show.

I need to get you their oldest album, way more energetic than the meadowlands. Really good. I think I have some weird rare EP stuff, I am not sure where it came from, but it is excellent. And yeah, you are welcome I guess. Xiu Xiu was amazing, I need to extend that part of the post.

Yea, everytime i go to Lou's records, i look for the Wrens, and they never have it in stock, but it is in the system. How did you find out about them?

I don't even remember, I think I was Amazon surfing back in like sophomore year, and I went with one of those "sounds like" bands, and the Wrens came up. I don't remember who I was searching for, or whatever, but I remember I found the song "Everyone Chooses Sides" (the third-to-last track on The Meadowlands), and I was blown away. I then decided I wanted the album for my birthday, and it is now one of the best records I own.
