Haruhi liked to watch Kyouya when he slept. It was the only time he was completely unguarded. And even then--sometimes he would curl around himself, as if keeping something precious hidden from the world.
Tamaki didn't know, though they hadn't tried to hide it. Honey knew, and Haruhi was pretty sure the twins did too. It's just that there wasn't really anything to hide. After a long day at the office Haruhi would text Kyouya, or he would e-mail her dinner reservations.
They ate. They drank. They had sex. Sometimes they held hands, or would accompany each other to official functions. Haruhi had even gotten skilled enough to where Kyouya would eat the breakfast she prepared. Secretly, she thought he would make a fantastic cook, and once or twice she thought she'd almost caught him at it.
But after cappuccinos (at Kyouya's) or gourmet coffee (at Haruhi's, where a deluxe coffee maker and a steady supply of top-quality single origin shade-grown beans had appeared after Kyouya's first night over), they would part ways. Haruhi luxuriated in a steaming shower, her clothes tossed across the floor. Sometimes she would meet Kyouya for lunch--often business-oriented--but generally the days, and often the nights (and the queen-sized bed) were hers. She had to admit, she was glad to see him go.
But she didn't admit that she loved it when he came.
