I really, really like how you've rearranged canon events to seamlessly fit your universe. The engagement party + meeting with the two other contenders works really well. And I love how, despite the battering he's taken, Guy is happy that he finally got under Robin's skin. :-D That's so totally him. (The whole last section, which is quite different from when I last saw it, works excellently.)

My favorite part of this chapter, though, has to be the one about Isabella's marriage. It's so vivid and wrenching, and the original characters are so good, especially Mahaut.

I'm glad that last section worked! The previous version didn't seem like it did much to advance the story, so I tried for something a little more in line with Marian & Isabella's sections.

I have to admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for Mahaut. She means well, she just has noooo clue : )
