Because of time constraints, I've decided not to do any of the RH-community secret santas, but, time permitting, I am going to try and finish up a few small projects I've had sitting around for awhile. (Fortune's Wheel does not count as small). The first of these is a Robin/Isabella fanmix I started working on in August/September.

The album reflects both the time of the year when it was put together and the time of the year during which the latter half of season three takes place: sunny, warm, with the occasional chill at night and the knowledge that summer is ending. The album also reflects some of the more positive aspects of Robin & Isabella's relationship: on the surface, it's poppy and upbeat, but mellows out as darker things surface. All of the songs have a hint of negativity: the cynicism of "Just What I Needed," despite the hope for a new beginning; the fear in "Good Fortune" that things can't last; the shallowness of "Damn Girl" that is countered by realization in "Something About Us" at what they've lost and can never have. "Müssen nur wollen" treats Isabella's fatigue with fronts and games, and her desire to throw everything away for what she thinks she wants while "One Evening" is about their real connection, despite their fears of getting hurt and how their brief but intense relationship has lingering effects even after they technically become enemies. This mix doesn't touch on the anger or the hurt; it is hopeful and wistful, reflecting with the ephemeral nature of Robin & Isabella's relationship--while it's good, it's great, and while both want it, they're afraid of what it means, or maybe have been pushed so far that they're unwilling to give up anything more in order to be together.
