Guy is being elusive. Tomorrow we're going to have to have a Discussion.

Ooh, what languages?

And thank you!

Ack, no, sorry! Nothing will be posted tomorrow, I'm just going to try and hammer out the bits of chapter seven--Guy's bits--that have been eluding me. Have I mentioned I'm the slowest writer on the planet?

re: languages--that's awesome! I've done a bunch of languages but only Indo-European ones. I would love to do Japanese and/or Mandarin some day, but I've got a couple languages I have to do first : )

(I think when I get settled--lots of moving about this week--I'm going to start throwing my stuff out)

Are you Komadori over there?

Excitement! Is the nasty Malevolent One behind the invitation? Can't wait to see what's next, with either story!

Oh wonderful. I don't think it's self-indulgent at all. I love the language detail--I'm kind of a language freak myself, and I love to hear about it. I also love how in tune your Marian is to her own sensuality. The whole thing is very sensual, even when we're talking about arrows to the shoulder and cathedrals and seasickness. It's so awesome.

“But where are we going?” he asks, when Acre has disappeared behind the dunes and all that surrounds them is white sand and purple sky. He could be lost here, gladly, forever.

I loved this paragraph.

I'm not going to lie. That NC-17 up there has me ridiculously excited. And it's already done? A tease!

I basically wrote exactly the sort of fic I wanted to read (seriously, no one's written a fight between Marian & Guy yet?) and then realized that maybe other people would not. But I'm glad you're enjoying it!

It is not the whispering, guttural sounds of Arabic or the round, rhythmic syllables of Romanesco or Occitan, from which she can sometimes pick out words; it twangs and stops and slides over her tongue with the sweetness of familiarity.
I particularly liked this bit. The details really bring it to life.

That was lovely!

I am slightly (read: frighteningly) obsessed with languages.

Thank you!
