Nino opens the apartment door. He walks into living room and put his bag on the sofa. Slowly, he starts making coffee. While waiting for the coffee, he goes to the bedroom and finds another person still in his deep sleep. Nino smiles as he opens the curtain. The other person stirs but is still sleeping. Nino shakes the man’s shoulder, trying to wake him up.
"Hey, Wake up, Ohno-san. It’s already morning."
Ohno stirs and tries to wake up, "Ugh, what time is it now?"
"It’s 9 o’clock, Ohno-san," Since Ohno is already up, Nino starts tidying up the room.
Ohno sits up, "I have a job today?" he says.
"Yes. A press conference for your new movie will be held today at lunch time."
Ohno stretches before walking into his bathroom, "I’ll take a bath first, please prepare everything."
"I understand, Ohno-san."
Ohno comes out from his bedroom, wearing a shirt and trousers and finds Nino preparing their breakfast in the kitchen. He sits in one of the dining chairs, waiting for Nino.
Nino puts a cup of coffee and a plate of omelet in front of him, "Here is yours, Ohno-san."
"Thanks."
Nino drinks only his coffee and starts writing something in his journal.
"You aren’t eating?" Ohno asks.
"No need. I ate my breakfast. ‘cause I need to prepare Jun's lunch."
“Oh, Jun. How is he doing?”
“Just normal. What do you expect of a 10 years old boy?”
“Does he still call you Nino?” Ohno asks while sipping his morning coffee.
“Yep. Its not that I mind it. I am fine, I want him to feel close with me. Since his parents are dead. It’s only the two of us. So, it’s fine with me if he is happy calling me Nino. I am fine.”
After Ohno's breakfast, they head to the cinema where Ohno's movie press conference will be held.
Ohno sits in the passanger sit while Nino drives.
Ohno Satoshi, 35, a rising actor. He is known as an amazing actor and has already won a lot of awards. He may look sleepy, but when he acts, his eyes become serious. Moreover, he also loves art and already made his own exhibit. While Ninomiya is his personal manager.
"Ne, Nino. What will they ask in the press conference?" Ohno asks as they arrive at Ohno's waiting room.
"They haven’t submitted their questions. Probably about the movie, if there is a question that you don’t want to answer, just pass it," Nino says as he prepares Ohno's suit.
In the next minutes, they call Ohno to the stage and have an introduction before they watch the movie. The movie is about a man, played by Ohno, that doesn’t want to give up his love even thought there are so many obstacles.
After they watch the movie, the reporters start their interview. But one question still in his mind, even after Nino has dropped him off at his apartment after the event is, "Do you have someone that you will never leave? Or do you have someone that you hope will never leave you?" At that time, his answer was, “My mother.”
"We have arrived, Ohno-san," Nino's voice wakes him.
"Oh. Thank you," Ohno mumbles softly.
Just before Ohno gets out from the car, Nino turns to him and starts saying something. "Any problems?" Ohno asks.
"Actually, you don’t have any work tomorrow. Every event for promotion for your movie is already done. So, can I have a day off?"
"Day off?"
"Yeah. Well, next week is Jun's birthday. I would like to go buy him a birthday present."
"Is that so? Then let me go with you, too. I would like to buy him something too."
"Is it fine? It’s been a long time since your last day off. Don’t you want to spent fishing or painting?"
Ohno hums. "But I do want to buy Jun something."
"Well, then, I’ll pick you up at lunch time."
"Well, then," Ohno takes his bag and gets out of the car.
"Good night, Ohno-san."
Ohno just mumbles, "good night," not sure if Nino heard it or not.
Nino drives the car back to his own apartment. The car is actually Ohno’s but since Ohno can’t drive, he told Nino to bring his car to Nino's apartment.
Nino walks tiredly as he enters his apartment. He lies down on the sofa and shuts his eyes for a while, taking some energy before heading to take a bath. After a few minutes, Nino walks into Jun's room. He sees his nephew sleeping soundly. He smiles. "Sorry my dear, Jun, I am late again. I’ll make it up to you soon," he whispers.
The next morning, after Nino drops Jun in his school, he prepares to go back to Ohno's apartment. He told him the night before to be ready at lunchtime, but he thinks going early is not wrong.
Nino thinks Ohno may still be sleeping, but instead, he finds him sitting at the dining table, still in his boxers, his laptop in front of him, and his right hand holding a coffee cup.
"Oh, you already up?"
Ohno raises an eyebrow, "You said you’d be here around lunch time. It’s only 10." Ohno looks at digital clock in the wall.
Nino takes a cup and pours some coffee for himself. "Well, I thought you’d still be sleeping so I came to wake you up. I just dropped off Jun. So, well, better I came straight here." He takes a seat in front of Ohno.
Ohno just hums and focuses back on his laptop, "What are you doing?" Nino asks.
"Oh, just reading my movie script and some news about me."
"Reading your script? Why? The filming was done days ago."
"Well, there is something that I need to make sure."
Nino just shrugs. "Have you bathed?" he asks.
Ohno shakes his head. "If you want to go now, I’ll go take a bath."
Nino looks at the clock. "We'll go at lunch time. And probably eat out. Can I play games?" Ohno answers with a nod.
Nino pours another coffee in his cup and brings it to Ohno's living room. Soon after, the apartment is filled with video game sounds. Ohno can still concentrate on his script, while Nino focuses on his games. But miraculously, they both stop when the clock rings at 12 pm (because it is lunch time, ne?) sharp.
"We will go now?" Ohno asks Nino as the other turns off the game.
"Yes. You should take a bath first. I’ll wait."
Ohno grins. "What? You stink. Go wash yourself." Nino said as he pushes Ohno to his room.
"I’ll wait. Don’t sleep in the tub," Nino warns him.
In a few minutes, Ohno comes out in a t-shirt and jeans. "How do I look?" he asks.
Nino looks him over from head to toe, "Isn’t it too lame?"
"I chose something that’s not showy. We’re going to find something for Jun, not to make an attraction."
"You should put on a cap and a mask, too, I think."
Ohno takes his jacket and cap, then they walk out of the apartment. Nino drives and they head to a department store not too far from Ohno’s neighborhood. They don’t want to buy something too much. Something usual for Jun.
"How about lunch first?" Ohno suggests as they walk in the mall.
"Sure." They head to a soba restaurant.
They choose a counter spot to eat their lunch. Since today’s agenda is for Jun, their conversation focuses only on Jun. After eating, they debate which store they should go first. They choose a clothing store since Nino always says that his nephew is fashionable.
In the store, they try to find some stylish clothes for a ten-year-old boy. Since both of them are not really fond of fashion, they really try their hardest to pick something Jun might like.
Next, they head for the game store. Ohno insists that they should go there. Ohno knows Nino is a hardcore gamer. He figures that Jun may have the same hobby as his uncle. As Ohno looks around for ideas, he sees Nino doing the same, his eyes glowing in awe at the treasure around him.
"What should I give for Jun?" Ohno asks.
Nino pauses. "Hmmm...."
"What game console do you not have?"
"I only have Nintendo and Playstation," Nino answers.
Ohno nods and looks around. He smiles as he finds what he wants. And it only makes Nino frown. Ohno grabs Nino's hand and pulls him to the rack. He picks a box and makes Nino look at it.
"Eh? What? Why? Eh?"
"You like it?" Ohno asks, still holding the box.
"But this is the newest XBox, Ohno-san."
"I know. Well, I assume you like it."
Without Nino’s acknowledgment, Ohno brings the box to the cashier, on the way picking a few games off the rack that can be played on the XBox.
"This is too much Ohno-san. It’s only Jun," Nino says as he watches the cashier wrap the box and put it into store’s paper bag.
"I don’t think it’s too much, it’s for Jun."
Nino starts to protest again, but instead, Ohno just shushes him. Nino is left with no option, he just follows Ohno out the store.
"Want to go to karaoke?" Ohno asks as they get in the car.
"Karaoke?" Nino starts the engine. Ohno nods, "Alright. We'll go there. But first, I need to pick up Jun."
Ohno thinks, "Hmmm, why don’t we go with Jun too?"
"The three of us?" Nino asks.
"Yeah, it will be fun. It has been long time since I played with Jun."
"Well, if you insist."
Nino drives to Jun's school. Once they arrive, Jun is already waiting for them outside. Without knowing that Ohno is in passenger seat, Jun gets in the back.
"You are late, Nino. That Ohno ordering you around again?" Jun says.
Nino chuckles. "Look who is here with me."
Jun looks at the passenger seat and finds Ohno. He looks surprised. "Aaah, Ohno-san. Sumimasen." He grins sheepishly.
"Don’t mind it, Let’s go, Nino."
Jun looks at his uncle. "Where are we going?"
"Choose, Jun. Karaoke or rent a movie and order delivery?" Nino says as he drives slowly.
Ohno looks at his manager. "But I want to go to karaoke," he whines.
Nino just shrugs it off. "I would like to watch Ohno-san’s newest movie, actually," Jun says.
"It isn’t out on DVD yet," Ohno answers instead.
Nino laughs, "So, how?"
"Let’s go to the cinema. I want to watch that movie," Jun insists.
Nino looks at the artist. Ohno can only sigh, "Can we go to karaoke, please? I'll give you a free ticket for the movie. Tomorrow is Friday, so you don’t need to worry about homework. I'll give you a free ticket, I promise."
"And give Nino a half-day off, too, ‘cause he needs to accompany me." Jun makes a deal.
Nino smiles before speeding up to one kind of those karaoke they usually go. They get a room to themselves, and even ordering in food for dinner throughout the evening. Since they have a kid with them, they need to be home by 9 p.m. Jun is already sound asleep when Nino drives home.
"I want to spend more time with you, " Ohno muttered out of the blue.
Nino can only respond with a small “eh?” Ohno shrugs and they fall into silence again.
"Good night, Ohno-san. Have a good sleep and nice dream." Ohno just nods and hops out from the car.
After making sure Ohno has walked in, Nino drives back to his apartment. He safely parks the car, lifts Jun up, and carries him to their apartment.
Ohno lies in his bed after shower, looking at the ceiling. At the same time, Nino has just entered in his room and lies down, looking up at the ceiling. They sigh as they knows they will have another tiring day tomorrow.
The next morning, Nino wakes up to his phone’s nonstop ringing. He takes his phone and without seeing the ID, he picks it up.
"Hello, Ninomiya speaking," Nino yawns.
"Ninomiya-san. Where are you?" said the person from the other side.
"At home. I just woke up."
The caller sighs. "Go out and buy a shitty tabloid. You know what I mean, right? And read the headlines!"
Nino looks at the caller ID and finds it is the CEO of Ohno's agency, Johnny Kitagawa. "Did Ohno make another scandal?" Nino asks.
"You better read about it first before asking. I’m hanging up."
Nino blinks as the line goes dead. He takes his jacket before going out from the apartment. He wants to go to the convenience store across the street of the apartment building, but outside, there are a lot of mass media. Nino looks at them worriedly. He thinks only Ohno has made a great scandal this time, until the mass media come to his apartment. But as far as he could remember, Ohno has been behaving professionally. So, he doesn’t know what Ohno has done to make a scandal. It’s proven true, when he entered the convenience store, everyone is eyeing him. He just shrugs it off and walks to the magazine stand at the corner. He takes the “yellow newspaper” that he knows from the rack. Nino drops the tabloid when he reads the headline. Hurriedly, he runs back to his home, leaving the tabloid lying on the floor in the store showing the headline:
IS OHNO SATOSHI GAY?
Nino tries to call Ohno as he changes his clothes. As he makes his coffee in the kitchen, Jun gets out of his room. He looks at his uncle. "What’s up Nino?"
"Jun, I am so sorry, I can’t take you to school. We have a problem. It’s fine if you go by yourself, right?" Nino said.
"It’s fine. My bento?" Jun stretches out his palm.
"Sorry, I haven’t made it yet. And also, don’t go through the front door. There are mass media outside," Nino gives him some money.
Jun nods as he walks out. Nino still tries to call Ohno, but he decides to go to the office first. He knows to be careful when he leaves because the mass media most likely will surround his car. He never stops or lowers the window. As soon as he goes through the crowd, he speeds up to go to the agency office. As expected, the mass media is over there, too. Nino takes a detour and comes in through the back door.
As soon as he enters the office, the receptionist comes up to him. "Any problems?" Nino asks.
"Shachou had been waiting," she says.
"But I need to meet with Ohno first,” Nino protests.
"Sorry, Ninomiya-san, it’s an order."
Nino groans as he goes to the highest floor. In there, the president's secretary has been already waiting for him. "This way, Ninomiya-san." Nino follows him inside the Johnny's office. There, the old man is already sitting in his almight chair, waiting for them. On his desk lies various newspapers and tabloids. The secretary leaves them. Suddenly the room becomes tense.
"You called me, Johnny-sama?"
Johnny smiles mysteriously. "What do you think of this?"
This is the second time Nino sees the news, but it’s the first time he reads it carefully. The tabloid, with a big heading, also has photos in the front page- of him and Ohno shopping at mall and also of them with Jun entering karaoke. Moreover, there is a third photo of Ohno carrying a sleeping Jun and putting him in the car. In the article, the reporter describes that Ohno is probably gay and may be in a relationship with Nino, though he doesn’t report that Nino is Ohno's manager. Another tabloid also mentions Jun like: “Ohno and Nino are ready for serious relationship since they already take care of Nino's nephew.” That makes Nino angry.
"I need to say to you, this isn’t true. Ohno-san and I don’t have any special relationship. We only do business, no more."
"But the media don’t need that statement, Nino. They have pictures. Clear ones. We are left with no choice."
"What do you mean?"
"I will suspend you of being Ohno's manager for one month. Your statement before needs proof , Nino. We can’t have you near him, at least, until the news is gone."
"But-"
"No buts. End of discussion. Please go home. Leave the car in the office, it’s not yours."
NIno takes a deep breath and bows. "I understand."
Just before he goes out the door, Johnny says, "Don’t meet with Ohno no matter what until I say so."
Nino leaves the office quietly, going home by train. He goes to the convenience store to buy cans of beer, ignoring the stares from people in his neighborhood. Once he enters his room, he takes a can and gulps it down, before finally he curls up in his bed.
In Ohno side, he knows it’s finally happened. But he didn’t really think it’d happen that fast. Only one night. Usually, the reporters tell them first, whether the agency will pay for the pictures or they will release them to the public. But in this case, nobody gave a warning, just like a dropped bomb. He has an intuition Nino is in a bad state right now. And Ohno's right when he sees Sakurai is the one who enters his room, not Nino.
"Where is Nino?" Ohno asks.
"Well, something happened. And I assume you already know that."
"That's why I asked, Sakurai! Where the hell is Nino?"
Sakurai looks at him straight. "Shachou suspended him from meeting you. I’ll be your manager from today onwards."
Ohno's gaze turn weak. He smiles weakly as he sits back in the sofa. "He'll not get fired, will he?"
"I don’t know it yet, Ohno-san. But right now, you have a scheduled event to attend."
Ohno stands, he says clearly, "make sure they won’t open their mouths to ask that."
"I understand that, Ohno-san."
The following day, Nino tries to give all his attention to Jun instead of thinking about his future career. The mass media are still persistent to know about him and Ohno. They still are waiting outside. But Nino is indifferent; he doesn’t give a damn about them.
Right now, Nino walks hand in hand with Jun to the bus stop. They keep silent as they walk out from their apartment. "Sorry, Jun," Nino says.
"It’s fine. I know. It is a big scandal this time."
"And also, sorry, no more cars." Jun laughs in response.
Jun bus comes. He hops in the bus, waving goodbye to Nino. Nino waves back.” Take care,” he says.
After Nino makes sure Jun is safe in the bus, Nino goes to the grocery store. He walks slowly. It’s been a long time since he walked in the neighborhood. While he waits for the traffic, he unconsciously finds Ohno's new movie poster in the big screen in front of theather. He smiles as he remembers the actor.
Nino knows that going to the grocery store will make him the center of attention. But he simply doesn’t care. Some women are murmuring about him. He hurriedly picks everything he need. He hands it to cashier.
"It’s, 54200-yen."
Nino hands the bills over and receives a paper bag full of his groceries.
"Hang in there, everything will be alright," the clerk says.
Nino only manages to nod before leaving the store. He walks quickly back to his apartment.
It’s the third day since Sakurai became Ohno's manager. Actually, he never thought being Ohno's manager is that easy. Sakurai thought that after the scandal, Ohno would throw a tantrum or such. Instead, Ohno just stays silent and does his job diligently. Sho thought everything was fine, but finally he knows the truth when he accompanies Ohno drinking that night.
Ohno, already a little bit drunk, says, "I am a mess."
Sakurai tries to restrain himself from being drunk. "You can tell me, Ohno-san. Since the news broke, you look different."
"I want to work hard, I want to make Nino come back again. I don’t want him to lose his job because of me."
"Why do you care? Isn’t he only your manager? Don’t tell me you two really have a relationship?"
"I do care. I know him. I know his hard work. Maybe in title he is only my manager. But in the past years, he is more than that. He is one of my closest people. I am even close with his little nephew. I know his hard work so he can support his nephew. I know how hard he works when he needs to accompany me in location but his nephew needs him. I know it all. I am attached to him and Jun. I depend on him too much. Firstly, I don’t want him to lose his job. But if I can be selfish, I may say, I can’t live without his presence," Ohno babbling.
Sakurai keeps silent, seeing how Ohno let out tears after babbling. "You love him, don’t you?"
Ohno lets out a laugh. "How I wish I could say that."
It’s the day before Jun's birthday. Nino wants to throw a party and make Jun invite his classmates from school. But Jun insists that he doesn’t need anyone to come. He just wants a simple party with only him and Nino. So, Nino decided to make Jun a chocolate cake.
Four days after the scandal, Nino manages to completely turn off his phone. He tries to cut off every connection with Ohno in a month. He knows that if the office knows they still contact each other, Nino will soon lose his job. But, for Jun's birthday, he contemplated inviting Ohno, too, since Ohno is persistent about Jun's 10th birthday.
"You don’t need to tell Ohno-san about my birthday," Jun says like he knows what Nino is thinking.
"He wants to come, actually," Nino answers.
"Yeah, and it will make you lose your job. Duh, I know, you will have a new position when you re-enter the office. But it’s better than losing your job."
"I know. Well, indeed it’s better."
Nino feels a grip in his hand and finds his nephew looking straight at him. "Him?"
"Nino. We only need each other. You and me. Like how you always protect me, I will always protect you, too. You can share your burden with me. You can tell me anything. I know I am just a kid, but at least, I’ve lived with you long enough to know you. I can only say, it will be fine, if you never telling me. So, please, share everything with me?" Jun said.
Nino squats down to Jun’s eye level, he embraces Jun and starts crying. Jun hugs him back; ready to listen everything that his uncle would say.
Today is Jun's birthday. Ohno has marked it on the calendar. But he tries to forget it by scheduling a job today. He assumes that it will end until past midnight. He sinks into his job, until when it’s done, he is exhausted and can only think about going to bed. But maybe God wants to mock him. When they are on the way back, instead of going to his apartment, Sakurai drives to Nino's apartment area.
"Why are we here?" Ohno ask as soon as Sakurai stops the car.
Not far from them, there's Nino's apartment building. Ohno looks at the building that so different from his own apartment. Nino's apartment is way far from a fancy one. But it’s not wobbly or damaged. It’s just simple and normal.
"I ask you, Sakurai, Why are we here?" Ohno deepens his voice growls as Sakurai just gives him a smile.
"Go there, Ohno-san. Today is Ninomiya-san's nephew's birthday."
Ohno slumps down. "I know."
"I found the box in the backseat this morning, and I assume it’s for him. Why don’t you go there and give it to him?"
Ohno looks at the big box -the gift- that now rests in the backseat. "And ruin everything? No, thank you."
"But the gift will be useless Ohno-san."
"I can donate it, or auction it. Doesn’t really matter."
"So, it doesn’t really matter seeing Ninomiya”s and Jun's happy faces when they receive this gift?" Ohno keeps silent. "You know how to go there discreetly right, Ohno-san? If you don’t start, you will never move. I know. You are old enough to know what is best for you. But, I do want to push you for your happiness."
Ohno takes a deep breath. "Why are you doing this, Sakurai? Why do you insist on pushing me?"
"Because I know how it is, Ohno-san. I know the struggle to live without seeing your love one."
Ohno looks at him questioningly. But Sakurai just takes the box from the backseat and shoves it to Ohno. "Now, please, go there and do the thing that you should do."
Ohno looks at the box on his lap, puts on a cap and a mask before hopping down from the car. He walks slowly to the apartment, in his hand the gift, leaving Sakurai smiling proudly inside the car.
Instead of using the front door, Ohno takes a detour and goes to the back door. He takes the elevator and soon enough, he arrives at Nino's apartment. He takes a deep breath before pushing the bell. Silently, he hopes that Nino and Jun haven’t slept yet.
In the next minutes, the door opens and shows Nino shocked face. "O-Ohno-san?"
Ohno takes off his mask tries to smile. "Hey."
"Why are you here?"
Ohno hands him the gift. "Jun's gift."
Nino opens the door completely. "Come in." Ohno enters the apartment.
In the living room, Jun looks at him with hatred. "Please sit down, Ohno-san. I’ll make something to drink for you." Nino leaves Ohno and Jun alone in the living room. Soon after, the atmosphere starts to heat up.
"Why you are here, old man?"
"I brought a gift for you."
"I know. Gift for my birthday from you and tomorrow is a letter from the office," Jun said sarcastic.
"I don’t intend to do that, Jun."
"And I don’t need your gift, Ohno-san. Neither this gift or tomorrow's one."
Ohno sighs. "It’s purely because I want to give you the gift."
"Can you please leave my uncle alone? You want him so bad to leave the company, right? I’ll tell him and he will soon give the resignation letter to the boss."
"I don’t want him to leave the company."
"Then, why did you come here? Don’t you know, you will hurt and destroy him? Well, you always hurt him anyway."
"I never in my life want to hurt him."
Jun stands and goes to genkan, he holds the door. "Please leave, Ohno-san. The longer you are here, the more scars you'll give to Nino."
Ohno stands but does not leave the place. "Why do you say that? Why do you assume that I hurt your uncle? I don’t want to hurt him, I never want to."
"People like you, people that live in the fame. I never believe people like that."
"Can I tell you the truth?"
Jun glares the older man. "Truth? Is there any truth behind this?"
For the umpteenth time, Ohno takes a deep breath. "The truth is, I want to protect Nino, and you, of course. I’ll try not to have any contact with Nino. I know Nino loves you so much, you are his only family, Nino wants to protect you. That’s why I know it’s reckless of mine, but I had try."
"Then why did you suddenly show up in our apartment?"
Ohno gaze softens. "Because I can’t lie anymore… that I can’t live without your uncle’s presence," Ohno said.
PRANG! Ohno and Jun turn to see a broken cup in the floor. They look at Nino, who stands shocked from their conversation.
"Ni-Nino?" Ohno and Jun say in unison.
"Jun, back here! Ohno-san, you have something to explain to me." Nino leaves the scattered cup and sits in the sofa. Ohno follows him and sits in front of him.
Jun leaves the genkan and they head back to living room. He sits beside Nino.
"What do you mean, Ohno-san? You can’t live without my presence? Don’t joke around."
"I am serious. How I wish I could say this all the time, Nino. How I wish, I can say directly to you."
"Hmm?"
"That I like you."
NIno holds his breath, "Like?"
Ohno never looked so serious. "I always like you, Nino. I like how hard working you are. I like your love to Jun. I like how you talk about your and Jun's day. I like everything about you. Soon after, I want to give you happiness. I want to be part of your and Jun's lives. Soon after, I look forward to our activities I want to be part of Jun's story, to be his friend. Simply, I want to be with you two. You have said to me that you are afraid to fall in love, what if the other can’t accept Jun. But I do accept him, right from the start, because he is part of you. That time, I realized, I can make you fall in love with me. But I don’t have the guts; I can’t say it to you. I am afraid I cannot give you and Jun happiness, but instead give you both a nightmare. And yes, it’s finally happened. Like Jun said before, I will only hurt you in the end I know, I can’t be part of your life," Ohno says.
Just when Nino opens his mouth, Ohno stops him, "Don’t say anything first. Let me finish.”
Nino shuts his mouth, "You know, there are times, I think to myself, what if I am not an entertainer? What if I am not an actor? Can I still be yours? Can I give you happiness that you want? Nino lets his tears fall. By his side, Jun holds his hand ,"It’s your time to choose, Nino. It’s time for you to honest with yourself Nino," Jun says.
Nino bites his lower lip. "I do like you, Ohno-san. But you know we can’t. Wait, I know you will give up everything, right? But I don’t want you to give up your career because I am your number one fan. I can’t make you stop being an actor."
The silence builds between them. "We can’t?" Ohno asks.
"No, we can’t. All right, now after the news broke, of course the office denied it, and soon after, they will move me. Even if we hide our relationship, I know your fans will eventually find you soon. We can’t risk it."
Suddenly, Ohno smiles. "Then I’ll just come out."
Jun and Nino look at him in shock. "Are you stupid or what?" Jun shouts.
"Well, I am serious. And because I am serious with you two, I want us to come out. We don’t need to hide anymore."
"But the office, your staff, your fan, how about them Ohno-san?"
"I believe the office will not fire me. They need me. If they fire me, they will lose a lot of money. My career? They judged me by my work, not by my sexuality."
"But they will fire me, you know that."
Ohno thinks briefly, "They will choose my manager, but they can’t choose my assistant. You still can be my assistant, though."
Nino smiles, but suddenly Jun interrupts, "Then, how about the worst scenario? You two got fired, no one wants you to act anymore. Your fans leave you. Then what will you do?"
Ohno smiles, he kneels in front of Nino and hold Nino's hand, "Then we can live in the suburb area, my money still can make me buy a small house. I can be a fisherman there, and if it rains, I can draw for a living, maybe I’ll sell it in front of our house. We can live at peace. You, me, and Jun," Ohno says as he gazes into Nino’s eyes.
Nino turns to look at his nephew. Jun sighs. "It’s your choice, Nino. Whatever decision you choose, I will be there to support you."
Nino hugs Jun, and while doing so, he turns to look at Ohno, who is still kneeling, and says, "You will spend your life with Jun, too. Don’t you mind it?”
Ohno hugs both of them. "I will never mind it. I want to do it. I want to spend my life with you and of course Jun, too."
They laugh as they finally settle everything. They continue the night eating Jun's birthday cake and making ideas about what should they do next.
What Ohno forgets is that Sakurai is still out there in Ohno's car. He looks at the phone in his hand and unlocks it. Showing a photo of him and another man. "At lease, Ohno has the guts to confess and fight for their love, not like me. And at least, they will not end up like us, Masaki,” Sho whispers softly.

Nino opens the apartment door. He walks into living room and put his bag on the sofa. Slowly, he starts making coffee. While waiting for the coffee, he goes to the bedroom and finds another person still in his deep sleep. Nino smiles as he opens the curtain. The other person stirs but is still sleeping. Nino shakes the man’s shoulder, trying to wake him up.
"Hey, Wake up, Ohno-san. It’s already morning."
Ohno stirs and tries to wake up, "Ugh, what time is it now?"
"It’s 9 o’clock, Ohno-san," Since Ohno is already up, Nino starts tidying up the room.
Ohno sits up, "I have a job today?" he says.
"Yes. A press conference for your new movie will be held today at lunch time."
Ohno stretches before walking into his bathroom, "I’ll take a bath first, please prepare everything."
"I understand, Ohno-san."
Ohno comes out from his bedroom, wearing a shirt and trousers and finds Nino preparing their breakfast in the kitchen. He sits in one of the dining chairs, waiting for Nino.
Nino puts a cup of coffee and a plate of omelet in front of him, "Here is yours, Ohno-san."
"Thanks."
Nino drinks only his coffee and starts writing something in his journal.
"You aren’t eating?" Ohno asks.
"No need. I ate my breakfast. ‘cause I need to prepare Jun's lunch."
“Oh, Jun. How is he doing?”
“Just normal. What do you expect of a 10 years old boy?”
“Does he still call you Nino?” Ohno asks while sipping his morning coffee.
“Yep. Its not that I mind it. I am fine, I want him to feel close with me. Since his parents are dead. It’s only the two of us. So, it’s fine with me if he is happy calling me Nino. I am fine.”
After Ohno's breakfast, they head to the cinema where Ohno's movie press conference will be held.
Ohno sits in the passanger sit while Nino drives.
Ohno Satoshi, 35, a rising actor. He is known as an amazing actor and has already won a lot of awards. He may look sleepy, but when he acts, his eyes become serious. Moreover, he also loves art and already made his own exhibit. While Ninomiya is his personal manager.
"Ne, Nino. What will they ask in the press conference?" Ohno asks as they arrive at Ohno's waiting room.
"They haven’t submitted their questions. Probably about the movie, if there is a question that you don’t want to answer, just pass it," Nino says as he prepares Ohno's suit.
In the next minutes, they call Ohno to the stage and have an introduction before they watch the movie. The movie is about a man, played by Ohno, that doesn’t want to give up his love even thought there are so many obstacles.
After they watch the movie, the reporters start their interview. But one question still in his mind, even after Nino has dropped him off at his apartment after the event is, "Do you have someone that you will never leave? Or do you have someone that you hope will never leave you?" At that time, his answer was, “My mother.”
"We have arrived, Ohno-san," Nino's voice wakes him.
"Oh. Thank you," Ohno mumbles softly.
Just before Ohno gets out from the car, Nino turns to him and starts saying something. "Any problems?" Ohno asks.
"Actually, you don’t have any work tomorrow. Every event for promotion for your movie is already done. So, can I have a day off?"
"Day off?"
"Yeah. Well, next week is Jun's birthday. I would like to go buy him a birthday present."
"Is that so? Then let me go with you, too. I would like to buy him something too."
"Is it fine? It’s been a long time since your last day off. Don’t you want to spent fishing or painting?"
Ohno hums. "But I do want to buy Jun something."
"Well, then, I’ll pick you up at lunch time."
"Well, then," Ohno takes his bag and gets out of the car.
"Good night, Ohno-san."
Ohno just mumbles, "good night," not sure if Nino heard it or not.
Nino drives the car back to his own apartment. The car is actually Ohno’s but since Ohno can’t drive, he told Nino to bring his car to Nino's apartment.
Nino walks tiredly as he enters his apartment. He lies down on the sofa and shuts his eyes for a while, taking some energy before heading to take a bath. After a few minutes, Nino walks into Jun's room. He sees his nephew sleeping soundly. He smiles. "Sorry my dear, Jun, I am late again. I’ll make it up to you soon," he whispers.
The next morning, after Nino drops Jun in his school, he prepares to go back to Ohno's apartment. He told him the night before to be ready at lunchtime, but he thinks going early is not wrong.
Nino thinks Ohno may still be sleeping, but instead, he finds him sitting at the dining table, still in his boxers, his laptop in front of him, and his right hand holding a coffee cup.
"Oh, you already up?"
Ohno raises an eyebrow, "You said you’d be here around lunch time. It’s only 10." Ohno looks at digital clock in the wall.
Nino takes a cup and pours some coffee for himself. "Well, I thought you’d still be sleeping so I came to wake you up. I just dropped off Jun. So, well, better I came straight here." He takes a seat in front of Ohno.
Ohno just hums and focuses back on his laptop, "What are you doing?" Nino asks.
"Oh, just reading my movie script and some news about me."
"Reading your script? Why? The filming was done days ago."
"Well, there is something that I need to make sure."
Nino just shrugs. "Have you bathed?" he asks.
Ohno shakes his head. "If you want to go now, I’ll go take a bath."
Nino looks at the clock. "We'll go at lunch time. And probably eat out. Can I play games?" Ohno answers with a nod.
Nino pours another coffee in his cup and brings it to Ohno's living room. Soon after, the apartment is filled with video game sounds. Ohno can still concentrate on his script, while Nino focuses on his games. But miraculously, they both stop when the clock rings at 12 pm (because it is lunch time, ne?) sharp.
"We will go now?" Ohno asks Nino as the other turns off the game.
"Yes. You should take a bath first. I’ll wait."
Ohno grins. "What? You stink. Go wash yourself." Nino said as he pushes Ohno to his room.
"I’ll wait. Don’t sleep in the tub," Nino warns him.
In a few minutes, Ohno comes out in a t-shirt and jeans. "How do I look?" he asks.
Nino looks him over from head to toe, "Isn’t it too lame?"
"I chose something that’s not showy. We’re going to find something for Jun, not to make an attraction."
"You should put on a cap and a mask, too, I think."
Ohno takes his jacket and cap, then they walk out of the apartment. Nino drives and they head to a department store not too far from Ohno’s neighborhood. They don’t want to buy something too much. Something usual for Jun.
"How about lunch first?" Ohno suggests as they walk in the mall.
"Sure." They head to a soba restaurant.
They choose a counter spot to eat their lunch. Since today’s agenda is for Jun, their conversation focuses only on Jun. After eating, they debate which store they should go first. They choose a clothing store since Nino always says that his nephew is fashionable.
In the store, they try to find some stylish clothes for a ten-year-old boy. Since both of them are not really fond of fashion, they really try their hardest to pick something Jun might like.
Next, they head for the game store. Ohno insists that they should go there. Ohno knows Nino is a hardcore gamer. He figures that Jun may have the same hobby as his uncle. As Ohno looks around for ideas, he sees Nino doing the same, his eyes glowing in awe at the treasure around him.
"What should I give for Jun?" Ohno asks.
Nino pauses. "Hmmm...."
"What game console do you not have?"
"I only have Nintendo and Playstation," Nino answers.
Ohno nods and looks around. He smiles as he finds what he wants. And it only makes Nino frown. Ohno grabs Nino's hand and pulls him to the rack. He picks a box and makes Nino look at it.
"Eh? What? Why? Eh?"
"You like it?" Ohno asks, still holding the box.
"But this is the newest XBox, Ohno-san."
"I know. Well, I assume you like it."
Without Nino’s acknowledgment, Ohno brings the box to the cashier, on the way picking a few games off the rack that can be played on the XBox.
"This is too much Ohno-san. It’s only Jun," Nino says as he watches the cashier wrap the box and put it into store’s paper bag.
"I don’t think it’s too much, it’s for Jun."
Nino starts to protest again, but instead, Ohno just shushes him. Nino is left with no option, he just follows Ohno out the store.
"Want to go to karaoke?" Ohno asks as they get in the car.
"Karaoke?" Nino starts the engine. Ohno nods, "Alright. We'll go there. But first, I need to pick up Jun."
Ohno thinks, "Hmmm, why don’t we go with Jun too?"
"The three of us?" Nino asks.
"Yeah, it will be fun. It has been long time since I played with Jun."
"Well, if you insist."
Nino drives to Jun's school. Once they arrive, Jun is already waiting for them outside. Without knowing that Ohno is in passenger seat, Jun gets in the back.
"You are late, Nino. That Ohno ordering you around again?" Jun says.
Nino chuckles. "Look who is here with me."
Jun looks at the passenger seat and finds Ohno. He looks surprised. "Aaah, Ohno-san. Sumimasen." He grins sheepishly.
"Don’t mind it, Let’s go, Nino."
Jun looks at his uncle. "Where are we going?"
"Choose, Jun. Karaoke or rent a movie and order delivery?" Nino says as he drives slowly.
Ohno looks at his manager. "But I want to go to karaoke," he whines.
Nino just shrugs it off. "I would like to watch Ohno-san’s newest movie, actually," Jun says.
"It isn’t out on DVD yet," Ohno answers instead.
Nino laughs, "So, how?"
"Let’s go to the cinema. I want to watch that movie," Jun insists.
Nino looks at the artist. Ohno can only sigh, "Can we go to karaoke, please? I'll give you a free ticket for the movie. Tomorrow is Friday, so you don’t need to worry about homework. I'll give you a free ticket, I promise."
"And give Nino a half-day off, too, ‘cause he needs to accompany me." Jun makes a deal.
Nino smiles before speeding up to one kind of those karaoke they usually go. They get a room to themselves, and even ordering in food for dinner throughout the evening. Since they have a kid with them, they need to be home by 9 p.m. Jun is already sound asleep when Nino drives home.
"I want to spend more time with you, " Ohno muttered out of the blue.
Nino can only respond with a small “eh?” Ohno shrugs and they fall into silence again.
"Good night, Ohno-san. Have a good sleep and nice dream." Ohno just nods and hops out from the car.
After making sure Ohno has walked in, Nino drives back to his apartment. He safely parks the car, lifts Jun up, and carries him to their apartment.
Ohno lies in his bed after shower, looking at the ceiling. At the same time, Nino has just entered in his room and lies down, looking up at the ceiling. They sigh as they knows they will have another tiring day tomorrow.
The next morning, Nino wakes up to his phone’s nonstop ringing. He takes his phone and without seeing the ID, he picks it up.
"Hello, Ninomiya speaking," Nino yawns.
"Ninomiya-san. Where are you?" said the person from the other side.
"At home. I just woke up."
The caller sighs. "Go out and buy a shitty tabloid. You know what I mean, right? And read the headlines!"
Nino looks at the caller ID and finds it is the CEO of Ohno's agency, Johnny Kitagawa. "Did Ohno make another scandal?" Nino asks.
"You better read about it first before asking. I’m hanging up."
Nino blinks as the line goes dead. He takes his jacket before going out from the apartment. He wants to go to the convenience store across the street of the apartment building, but outside, there are a lot of mass media. Nino looks at them worriedly. He thinks only Ohno has made a great scandal this time, until the mass media come to his apartment. But as far as he could remember, Ohno has been behaving professionally. So, he doesn’t know what Ohno has done to make a scandal. It’s proven true, when he entered the convenience store, everyone is eyeing him. He just shrugs it off and walks to the magazine stand at the corner. He takes the “yellow newspaper” that he knows from the rack. Nino drops the tabloid when he reads the headline. Hurriedly, he runs back to his home, leaving the tabloid lying on the floor in the store showing the headline:
IS OHNO SATOSHI GAY?
Nino tries to call Ohno as he changes his clothes. As he makes his coffee in the kitchen, Jun gets out of his room. He looks at his uncle. "What’s up Nino?"
"Jun, I am so sorry, I can’t take you to school. We have a problem. It’s fine if you go by yourself, right?" Nino said.
"It’s fine. My bento?" Jun stretches out his palm.
"Sorry, I haven’t made it yet. And also, don’t go through the front door. There are mass media outside," Nino gives him some money.
Jun nods as he walks out. Nino still tries to call Ohno, but he decides to go to the office first. He knows to be careful when he leaves because the mass media most likely will surround his car. He never stops or lowers the window. As soon as he goes through the crowd, he speeds up to go to the agency office. As expected, the mass media is over there, too. Nino takes a detour and comes in through the back door.
As soon as he enters the office, the receptionist comes up to him. "Any problems?" Nino asks.
"Shachou had been waiting," she says.
"But I need to meet with Ohno first,” Nino protests.
"Sorry, Ninomiya-san, it’s an order."
Nino groans as he goes to the highest floor. In there, the president's secretary has been already waiting for him. "This way, Ninomiya-san." Nino follows him inside the Johnny's office. There, the old man is already sitting in his almight chair, waiting for them. On his desk lies various newspapers and tabloids. The secretary leaves them. Suddenly the room becomes tense.
"You called me, Johnny-sama?"
Johnny smiles mysteriously. "What do you think of this?"
This is the second time Nino sees the news, but it’s the first time he reads it carefully. The tabloid, with a big heading, also has photos in the front page- of him and Ohno shopping at mall and also of them with Jun entering karaoke. Moreover, there is a third photo of Ohno carrying a sleeping Jun and putting him in the car. In the article, the reporter describes that Ohno is probably gay and may be in a relationship with Nino, though he doesn’t report that Nino is Ohno's manager. Another tabloid also mentions Jun like: “Ohno and Nino are ready for serious relationship since they already take care of Nino's nephew.” That makes Nino angry.
"I need to say to you, this isn’t true. Ohno-san and I don’t have any special relationship. We only do business, no more."
"But the media don’t need that statement, Nino. They have pictures. Clear ones. We are left with no choice."
"What do you mean?"
"I will suspend you of being Ohno's manager for one month. Your statement before needs proof , Nino. We can’t have you near him, at least, until the news is gone."
"But-"
"No buts. End of discussion. Please go home. Leave the car in the office, it’s not yours."
NIno takes a deep breath and bows. "I understand."
Just before he goes out the door, Johnny says, "Don’t meet with Ohno no matter what until I say so."
Nino leaves the office quietly, going home by train. He goes to the convenience store to buy cans of beer, ignoring the stares from people in his neighborhood. Once he enters his room, he takes a can and gulps it down, before finally he curls up in his bed.
In Ohno side, he knows it’s finally happened. But he didn’t really think it’d happen that fast. Only one night. Usually, the reporters tell them first, whether the agency will pay for the pictures or they will release them to the public. But in this case, nobody gave a warning, just like a dropped bomb. He has an intuition Nino is in a bad state right now. And Ohno's right when he sees Sakurai is the one who enters his room, not Nino.
"Where is Nino?" Ohno asks.
"Well, something happened. And I assume you already know that."
"That's why I asked, Sakurai! Where the hell is Nino?"
Sakurai looks at him straight. "Shachou suspended him from meeting you. I’ll be your manager from today onwards."
Ohno's gaze turn weak. He smiles weakly as he sits back in the sofa. "He'll not get fired, will he?"
"I don’t know it yet, Ohno-san. But right now, you have a scheduled event to attend."
Ohno stands, he says clearly, "make sure they won’t open their mouths to ask that."
"I understand that, Ohno-san."
The following day, Nino tries to give all his attention to Jun instead of thinking about his future career. The mass media are still persistent to know about him and Ohno. They still are waiting outside. But Nino is indifferent; he doesn’t give a damn about them.
Right now, Nino walks hand in hand with Jun to the bus stop. They keep silent as they walk out from their apartment. "Sorry, Jun," Nino says.
"It’s fine. I know. It is a big scandal this time."
"And also, sorry, no more cars." Jun laughs in response.
Jun bus comes. He hops in the bus, waving goodbye to Nino. Nino waves back.” Take care,” he says.
After Nino makes sure Jun is safe in the bus, Nino goes to the grocery store. He walks slowly. It’s been a long time since he walked in the neighborhood. While he waits for the traffic, he unconsciously finds Ohno's new movie poster in the big screen in front of theather. He smiles as he remembers the actor.
Nino knows that going to the grocery store will make him the center of attention. But he simply doesn’t care. Some women are murmuring about him. He hurriedly picks everything he need. He hands it to cashier.
"It’s, 54200-yen."
Nino hands the bills over and receives a paper bag full of his groceries.
"Hang in there, everything will be alright," the clerk says.
Nino only manages to nod before leaving the store. He walks quickly back to his apartment.
It’s the third day since Sakurai became Ohno's manager. Actually, he never thought being Ohno's manager is that easy. Sakurai thought that after the scandal, Ohno would throw a tantrum or such. Instead, Ohno just stays silent and does his job diligently. Sho thought everything was fine, but finally he knows the truth when he accompanies Ohno drinking that night.
Ohno, already a little bit drunk, says, "I am a mess."
Sakurai tries to restrain himself from being drunk. "You can tell me, Ohno-san. Since the news broke, you look different."
"I want to work hard, I want to make Nino come back again. I don’t want him to lose his job because of me."
"Why do you care? Isn’t he only your manager? Don’t tell me you two really have a relationship?"
"I do care. I know him. I know his hard work. Maybe in title he is only my manager. But in the past years, he is more than that. He is one of my closest people. I am even close with his little nephew. I know his hard work so he can support his nephew. I know how hard he works when he needs to accompany me in location but his nephew needs him. I know it all. I am attached to him and Jun. I depend on him too much. Firstly, I don’t want him to lose his job. But if I can be selfish, I may say, I can’t live without his presence," Ohno babbling.
Sakurai keeps silent, seeing how Ohno let out tears after babbling. "You love him, don’t you?"
Ohno lets out a laugh. "How I wish I could say that."
It’s the day before Jun's birthday. Nino wants to throw a party and make Jun invite his classmates from school. But Jun insists that he doesn’t need anyone to come. He just wants a simple party with only him and Nino. So, Nino decided to make Jun a chocolate cake.
Four days after the scandal, Nino manages to completely turn off his phone. He tries to cut off every connection with Ohno in a month. He knows that if the office knows they still contact each other, Nino will soon lose his job. But, for Jun's birthday, he contemplated inviting Ohno, too, since Ohno is persistent about Jun's 10th birthday.
"You don’t need to tell Ohno-san about my birthday," Jun says like he knows what Nino is thinking.
"He wants to come, actually," Nino answers.
"Yeah, and it will make you lose your job. Duh, I know, you will have a new position when you re-enter the office. But it’s better than losing your job."
"I know. Well, indeed it’s better."
Nino feels a grip in his hand and finds his nephew looking straight at him. "Him?"
"Nino. We only need each other. You and me. Like how you always protect me, I will always protect you, too. You can share your burden with me. You can tell me anything. I know I am just a kid, but at least, I’ve lived with you long enough to know you. I can only say, it will be fine, if you never telling me. So, please, share everything with me?" Jun said.
Nino squats down to Jun’s eye level, he embraces Jun and starts crying. Jun hugs him back; ready to listen everything that his uncle would say.
Today is Jun's birthday. Ohno has marked it on the calendar. But he tries to forget it by scheduling a job today. He assumes that it will end until past midnight. He sinks into his job, until when it’s done, he is exhausted and can only think about going to bed. But maybe God wants to mock him. When they are on the way back, instead of going to his apartment, Sakurai drives to Nino's apartment area.
"Why are we here?" Ohno ask as soon as Sakurai stops the car.
Not far from them, there's Nino's apartment building. Ohno looks at the building that so different from his own apartment. Nino's apartment is way far from a fancy one. But it’s not wobbly or damaged. It’s just simple and normal.
"I ask you, Sakurai, Why are we here?" Ohno deepens his voice growls as Sakurai just gives him a smile.
"Go there, Ohno-san. Today is Ninomiya-san's nephew's birthday."
Ohno slumps down. "I know."
"I found the box in the backseat this morning, and I assume it’s for him. Why don’t you go there and give it to him?"
Ohno looks at the big box -the gift- that now rests in the backseat. "And ruin everything? No, thank you."
"But the gift will be useless Ohno-san."
"I can donate it, or auction it. Doesn’t really matter."
"So, it doesn’t really matter seeing Ninomiya”s and Jun's happy faces when they receive this gift?" Ohno keeps silent. "You know how to go there discreetly right, Ohno-san? If you don’t start, you will never move. I know. You are old enough to know what is best for you. But, I do want to push you for your happiness."
Ohno takes a deep breath. "Why are you doing this, Sakurai? Why do you insist on pushing me?"
"Because I know how it is, Ohno-san. I know the struggle to live without seeing your love one."
Ohno looks at him questioningly. But Sakurai just takes the box from the backseat and shoves it to Ohno. "Now, please, go there and do the thing that you should do."
Ohno looks at the box on his lap, puts on a cap and a mask before hopping down from the car. He walks slowly to the apartment, in his hand the gift, leaving Sakurai smiling proudly inside the car.
Instead of using the front door, Ohno takes a detour and goes to the back door. He takes the elevator and soon enough, he arrives at Nino's apartment. He takes a deep breath before pushing the bell. Silently, he hopes that Nino and Jun haven’t slept yet.
In the next minutes, the door opens and shows Nino shocked face. "O-Ohno-san?"
Ohno takes off his mask tries to smile. "Hey."
"Why are you here?"
Ohno hands him the gift. "Jun's gift."
Nino opens the door completely. "Come in." Ohno enters the apartment.
In the living room, Jun looks at him with hatred. "Please sit down, Ohno-san. I’ll make something to drink for you." Nino leaves Ohno and Jun alone in the living room. Soon after, the atmosphere starts to heat up.
"Why you are here, old man?"
"I brought a gift for you."
"I know. Gift for my birthday from you and tomorrow is a letter from the office," Jun said sarcastic.
"I don’t intend to do that, Jun."
"And I don’t need your gift, Ohno-san. Neither this gift or tomorrow's one."
Ohno sighs. "It’s purely because I want to give you the gift."
"Can you please leave my uncle alone? You want him so bad to leave the company, right? I’ll tell him and he will soon give the resignation letter to the boss."
"I don’t want him to leave the company."
"Then, why did you come here? Don’t you know, you will hurt and destroy him? Well, you always hurt him anyway."
"I never in my life want to hurt him."
Jun stands and goes to genkan, he holds the door. "Please leave, Ohno-san. The longer you are here, the more scars you'll give to Nino."
Ohno stands but does not leave the place. "Why do you say that? Why do you assume that I hurt your uncle? I don’t want to hurt him, I never want to."
"People like you, people that live in the fame. I never believe people like that."
"Can I tell you the truth?"
Jun glares the older man. "Truth? Is there any truth behind this?"
For the umpteenth time, Ohno takes a deep breath. "The truth is, I want to protect Nino, and you, of course. I’ll try not to have any contact with Nino. I know Nino loves you so much, you are his only family, Nino wants to protect you. That’s why I know it’s reckless of mine, but I had try."
"Then why did you suddenly show up in our apartment?"
Ohno gaze softens. "Because I can’t lie anymore… that I can’t live without your uncle’s presence," Ohno said.
PRANG! Ohno and Jun turn to see a broken cup in the floor. They look at Nino, who stands shocked from their conversation.
"Ni-Nino?" Ohno and Jun say in unison.
"Jun, back here! Ohno-san, you have something to explain to me." Nino leaves the scattered cup and sits in the sofa. Ohno follows him and sits in front of him.
Jun leaves the genkan and they head back to living room. He sits beside Nino.
"What do you mean, Ohno-san? You can’t live without my presence? Don’t joke around."
"I am serious. How I wish I could say this all the time, Nino. How I wish, I can say directly to you."
"Hmm?"
"That I like you."
NIno holds his breath, "Like?"
Ohno never looked so serious. "I always like you, Nino. I like how hard working you are. I like your love to Jun. I like how you talk about your and Jun's day. I like everything about you. Soon after, I want to give you happiness. I want to be part of your and Jun's lives. Soon after, I look forward to our activities I want to be part of Jun's story, to be his friend. Simply, I want to be with you two. You have said to me that you are afraid to fall in love, what if the other can’t accept Jun. But I do accept him, right from the start, because he is part of you. That time, I realized, I can make you fall in love with me. But I don’t have the guts; I can’t say it to you. I am afraid I cannot give you and Jun happiness, but instead give you both a nightmare. And yes, it’s finally happened. Like Jun said before, I will only hurt you in the end I know, I can’t be part of your life," Ohno says.
Just when Nino opens his mouth, Ohno stops him, "Don’t say anything first. Let me finish.”
Nino shuts his mouth, "You know, there are times, I think to myself, what if I am not an entertainer? What if I am not an actor? Can I still be yours? Can I give you happiness that you want? Can I be part of Jun's life? But I know, if I were not an actor, we would never meet. That time I concluded we aren’t meant for each other. But right now, I can’t run anymore. I can’t lie anymore. My feelings for you are real. And yes, I confess, I like you Ninomiya Kazunari."
Nino lets his tears fall. By his side, Jun holds his hand ,"It’s your time to choose, Nino. It’s time for you to honest with yourself Nino," Jun says.
Nino bites his lower lip. "I do like you, Ohno-san. But you know we can’t. Wait, I know you will give up everything, right? But I don’t want you to give up your career because I am your number one fan. I can’t make you stop being an actor."
The silence builds between them. "We can’t?" Ohno asks.
"No, we can’t. All right, now after the news broke, of course the office denied it, and soon after, they will move me. Even if we hide our relationship, I know your fans will eventually find you soon. We can’t risk it."
Suddenly, Ohno smiles. "Then I’ll just come out."
Jun and Nino look at him in shock. "Are you stupid or what?" Jun shouts.
"Well, I am serious. And because I am serious with you two, I want us to come out. We don’t need to hide anymore."
"But the office, your staff, your fan, how about them Ohno-san?"
"I believe the office will not fire me. They need me. If they fire me, they will lose a lot of money. My career? They judged me by my work, not by my sexuality."
"But they will fire me, you know that."
Ohno thinks briefly, "They will choose my manager, but they can’t choose my assistant. You still can be my assistant, though."
Nino smiles, but suddenly Jun interrupts, "Then, how about the worst scenario? You two got fired, no one wants you to act anymore. Your fans leave you. Then what will you do?"
Ohno smiles, he kneels in front of Nino and hold Nino's hand, "Then we can live in the suburb area, my money still can make me buy a small house. I can be a fisherman there, and if it rains, I can draw for a living, maybe I’ll sell it in front of our house. We can live at peace. You, me, and Jun," Ohno says as he gazes into Nino’s eyes.
Nino turns to look at his nephew. Jun sighs. "It’s your choice, Nino. Whatever decision you choose, I will be there to support you."
Nino hugs Jun, and while doing so, he turns to look at Ohno, who is still kneeling, and says, "You will spend your life with Jun, too. Don’t you mind it?”
Ohno hugs both of them. "I will never mind it. I want to do it. I want to spend my life with you and of course Jun, too."
They laugh as they finally settle everything. They continue the night eating Jun's birthday cake and making ideas about what should they do next.
What Ohno forgets is that Sakurai is still out there in Ohno's car. He looks at the phone in his hand and unlocks it. Showing a photo of him and another man. "At lease, Ohno has the guts to confess and fight for their love, not like me. And at least, they will not end up like us, Masaki,” Sho whispers softly.

Eid really take my time, its first day i have free noon TT
For the first time i feel relieved i am not pass the test for summer voluntary work, since i ahvent get my rest from Eid.
But, i still have long holiday...
