HELP PLEASE! (any advice appreciated)
Non-Story
BAH! Bah, bah - a thousand times BAH. So, I completely fail at photoshop. COMPLETELY. No lie. I've spent like the last two hours (le sigh) working on a story banner thing for The Finish, but I CANNOT get one. Blahr. X( (Exasperated Hannah is EXASPERATED.) Oh, I've made some really sucky ones, that's for sure, but nothing really good.
So... If someone would critique what I have so far, or offer suggestions or something, that would be great! I managed to get a thing of each of them I liked, but I didn't manage to get one of them together.
1: Jayne Square
The text I used for this was:
"You know what I'm gonna do to you? Oh. Gonna throw you down on my bed."
That's all I had room for. I like the color-over thing, though that was originally just because I had trouble recoloring Jayne's picture to match the one I'd chosen of River how I wanted it to.
Does that text work? It's hard to read so I didn't think it mattered what it said (I want a quote from the story, though.) I thought it would be funny to use this line: "That's right, yeah, perfect, jus' shut up an' let me take your panties off." Heh.
2: River Square
The text I used for this was:
"I was disgusted; I was appalled. But you have made me very, very curious."
I know, I know - I didn't get all the tan out of her hair. I was hoping the green would hide it because that's tedious and hard... And the pic doesn't fit the portrayal of her in the story, but it's sexy, so I thought it worked. Maybe if I found a different picture... ? I don't know.
And does the text work? She doesn't talk much. I would have preferred her little "just... fucking... touch me" sort of speech, but there were too many ellipses. I could use something Jayne says, I guess. I dunno.
3: Together!
I did nothing but put the pictures together, add a strip of green, and "the finish" to the side. So it looks... meh.
I suck at blendy things, so I wasn't sure how to "merge" (so to speak) the two squares together.
I also thought about just using one of the pictures, and putting a big block of text where the other picture would be, but I tried that and both sucked. HARD. But that was when I was tired and I just wanted to finish, so it doesn't represent my best work.
Yeah...
4: Ultra Sucky Attempt One:
(Once again, I was very tired and I just wanted to complete something. I like this only because I got to use the text I did.)
Text I used was:
"Yeah, you like that? Oh yeah bao bei, that's right. 'Cause after I get done kissin' every creamy inch o' you I can, I'm gonna rip your unders off an' throw 'em right 'cross the room. An' you know what I'm gonna do then?"
5: Ultra Sucky Attempt Two:
(I know that under "the finish" it's a different color. I was going to take the time to layer the text with just a transparent green square, but... Work. Me tired. Yeah... Heh. This one blends better from the River-square to the chalkboard, though. But it still sucks. Maybe I need a better font.)

"St-stop it. You have... Intoxicated, made me... Want - aching, exquisite pain, feelings resplendent and strong. But... not analogous... And... Just... None of this verbose, lack of... Just... fucking... touch me."
I liked the banner I did for Suitor, but it's not great, either. I just like it because it looks like Jayne's all shining over River. Hee.
Also, I suck at icon making, too - but I just shrunk the images to get icons, and they're not good, but I did make them. I don't know how to get their faces clearer without redoing them. Blahr. But take them if you want 'em! I don't really (well... I have no room). Heh.

Any and ALL advice would be appreciated! Thanks! I really have no idea what I'm doing - I just go in with a mouse and a blindfold and muck about a bit until something gets completed. Maybe I could get a better font... ? Better pictures? I don't know.
