I didn't get my 25 Fics finished in time, and for that I'm sorry. Really sorry! Anyway, I've had some... trouble lately, in addition to still having an on and off cough. I'll go into more detail in a sec, but first!
Thanks! Ahh - I agree. Being sick's definitely no fun. I think you're right. I've done an awful lot lately. I have a tendency to take too much on, sometimes.
But here's what I have so far of your fic (as much as I could fit), if you'd like to see. Not much so far, but I'm working. Heh. There are just a few disconnected scenes, but I think you'll get the main points. :)
“Don’t want to be here,” River muttered, wiggling her fingers as she pulled on her gloves. “Beguiled, tricked, deceived - Captain Daddy pulled the wool over my eyes.”
“Now, now,” Mal sat, patting her back consolingly. “It ain’t that bad, Albatross. Besides bein’ cold, o’ course.”
“I can’t blame her for being worried,” Simon said, pulling up his fur-lined hood. “We were born here, after all, and our parents… “ He sighed. “They never believed River was being hurt; I cut off all contact with them when I rescued her from the Academy, and I… I’m not sure I want to see them now.” He looked over to his sister with a soft, compassionate smile. “And I don’t think River wants to, either.”
River huffed. “Simple Simon. Parental units do not factor into the equation.” She pulled her coat tighter around her body. “Girl just hates the cold.”
Mal had lined up a somewhat respectable job on the planet of Osiris and the crew of Serenity had landed outside of a small settlement on the coldest part of the planet. Simon - being Simon - had worried about possibly encountering his and River’s parents.

Simon smiled wearily. “Ahh. Yes, Kaylee, but… but it’s a good tired. I’m exhausted, but I wouldn’t trade the feeling.”
Kaylee wiped his brow with a dirty handkerchief, wearing a proud smile. “Well that’s real shiny, bao bei. And did you hear? They’re namin’ the baby after you! Sure beats a hamster, don’t it?”
He laughed. “Yes. Yes, it certainly does.” His smile softened and he pushed a lock of hair behind her ear.
A cough interrupted them. “Excuse me,” Darla said, smiling apologetically at the doorway, “but, uh, Lila’s awake an’ asking to see you. The rest of your crew’s already in there, so if you want to…” She cleared her throat and gestured toward the bedroom.
Simon stood. “Of course,” he replied, helping Kaylee up. “How is she?”
“Oh, she’s just fine. And the little baby’s doing good, too. Come on in.” She led them into the master bedroom where the rest of Serenity’s crew stood gathered around Lila and her newborn daughter.
“There you are, doctor,” she said quietly. “Look. I want you to officially meet little Marcia Simon.”
Kaylee giggled and Simon grinned sheepishly. “She’s lovely,” he said sincerely, “and I feel honored to have been able to help deliver her. A-and… It’s an honor to be able to share her name, as well.”
“Even though it’s a girl?” Jayne sneered.
Kaylee huffed on her beau’s behalf. “No need to tease ‘im, Jayne - ain’t like you got room to talk anyway!”

“I am sorry I am not sane.”
“Now don’t go startin’ that!” He glared at her for a moment before turning sullenly back to the horses. “That ain’t your fault,” he said quietly. “So don’t go apologizin’. It won’t do nobody any good.”
River sniffled a little from her place huddled on the other side of the sleigh. “Cannot help it. Heard you - man-called-Jayne wished girl was not so crazy. But girl cannot help it! I will never - “
“Girl, I thought I said t’stop it. Right the hell now. Don’t apologize! It ain’t your fault, you little moonbrain, an’… An’ I only thought that - you shouldn’t be in my head anyway - because I… Look, it ain’t important! I don’t mind that you’re crazy. Well, I don’t mind much. So just… don’t. Okay?”
“You are incapable of comfort and lacking eloquence.”
Jayne grunted. “I ain’t tryin’ to be comfortin’, girl. An’ you are crazy, but it don’t matter, so we’re done talkin’ ‘bout it, okay?”
She nodded.
“Well good. Hey, you warm enough?”
River nodded. “Yes. Still cold, but… Warm enough.”
“Here, then. Have some o’ the hot chocolate they gave us.” He handed her the tall cup.
Eagerly, River took a sip of the steaming liquid. “Hot!” she said. And then she giggled. “It tastes like Jayne.”
Ohhh this is delicious so far.....you just take your time and get it ready when you're ready. I can wait and be patient. Plus it's nice to extend Christmas a bit with one more cherished present to wait on. It's going to be wonderful. I love everything about it so far.
Feel better. I'm off to bed early tonight as I'm still a bit tired and on the very end of stupid sinus crap. Back to work this mon. so I want to get to be earlier so I don't crash and burn on mon.
