It's been a hell of a few weeks. J and I have been refugees for a little over a week, and we're so so so tired of it. Let's take this one at a time.
1. First of all, I (thought I have) been suffering from hives for over a month now. 3 doctor's appointments, prescription strength hydrocortisone 3 times a day, no help. Itchy as hell, gross looking as hell.
2. Went to Baltimore about 3 weeks ago. Had a lovely trip except for the car accident involving my whole family. Yay. No one was hurt, luckily. Traumatic, though.
3. About a week and a half ago, we narrowed down the cause of my hives to our bedroom. Began sleeping on the futon in the living room.
4. Wonderful trip to Maine with friends. No trauma, just Munchkin. :)
5. Learned Wednesday of last week that the hives actually were bed bug bites, and that they've infested our box spring. Woo. Remember folks, my #1 deepest fear is parasites. Grooooossssss. So after about 2 hours of panic attack, we spent a sleepless night feeling creepycrawly on the futon.
6. Spent this past weekend at home. Got the apartment ready for being sprayed today. Saw KT and JMW. Lovely. Put in an old pair of contacts.
7. Woke up Saturday morning with an awful, excruciating eye infection. Felt like crawling under a rock forever. Got some antibiotics.
8. While I was at home, found out that my great aunt passed away.
9. Spent a sleepless night at J, L, &R's last night. Got up at 8 this AM and went home before coming to work. Where I am now. Eye swollen still. Apartment was just sprayed. We were told that the spray isn't toxic to people, which we hope is true. Also told that there is no sue way to prevent them, and they're a bitch to eradicate.
So that's what's been up. I'm exhausted, underslept, stressed beyond belief, sad, with the remains of bedbug bites all over my arms and legs, and a swollen, red eye. I know none of these things are bad in themselves, but together....
I'm just glad I have J and that I have such fantastic friends.
