Marbery Pane Dunaway was accorded full military honors during her burial ceremony today, including a volley of three. It's a good thing they were issuing Kleenexes, because I always need'em at military style funerals. She was truly one of the proud and the few, having volunteered to be a woman marine during WWII, and serving actively during Korea also. She maintained her active reserve status throughout her life and attended almost every woman's marine annual event until late in life when health issues intervened. In a civilian capacity, she worked as a tax law specialist on both sides of the 1040; the private sector, and the IRS. She was a strong-willed and independent woman, and that most probably was the glue that stuck between her and RDW, and I knew her mainly through RDW.
