Raccoons are smart without a doubt. But, when they used my water aerator system to pump 75% of the water out of a pond overnight by pointing it where it would shoot water on the bank instead of returning it to the pond -- and at the same time, removing my evaporative-compensator line so it would drip outside the pond -- they effectively made fishing more productive for their efforts. Less water volume concentrates their prey!
