Night goblins defeated. Took long rest in copse of trees. Ponies returned next morning, injured.

Arrive in Medici, largest city in northern Istara, home to the furniture, woodworking, lumber, masonry and blacksmithing guilds. We meet Guido outside the courthouse. Tell Guido of what happened, he flips, but then refuses help us free the esper, concerned more with avenging our father and freeing Angela.

While fishing, Guido sees a funeral procession, sending a small boy to his last reward. Meanwhile, at the inn, the innkeeper's son is sufferring from a magical plague. Vincenzo attempts to help, and sends Giuseppe to fetch the local priest of Atrea. She returns moments too late, and the boy dies. Vincenzo determines that the boy's doll was enchanted with necromantic magic, the source of the boy's disease. It is suspected that the other boy died for similar reasons.

The dead children are possessed by the dolls, and become wights. Wights turn more people into wights, and overrun the city. The guards close the gates and burn portions of the city to contain the outbreak. 7/8ths of the population have died; about 60 survivors remain, barricaded in their houses, in the jail and in the temple.

The people look on us as a bad omen. We leave before the survivors mob upon us.

After a day of late fall storms, we arrive in Peleus, port city. The Crimson Masks and the Shadow Gang fight for control of the streets and the government. The guards answer to the nobility rather than the burgers -- money gets you everywhere in this town. We hear rumors of murders recently, all nobles, and the Swan Street Slicer remains at large. Lord Dromdahl of the declining Dromdahl house was his latest victim.

We come to Guido's apartment, a small tenement in the fishing district. The place is decorated with armor and helmets...some fisherman.

Somehow, the Sigmarites got to my twin. Now he wants to be a witch-hunter. That's a major turnaround for him...I'm not sure I like it, but it's given him new drive, and he seems particularly after the creatures that killed our father. However this turns out in the long run, it will help us for now.

The Swan Street Slicer struck again, this time killing a lord of House Knott.

Guido had a gladiator fight tonight. The wildcard was a Harsaf, an Ibim Hassani fire being. Nobody died, but nobody took out the Harsaf before the fight ended, either. Strangely enough, Guido began speaking in Imperial while fighting, and suddenly began hitting a lot harder. We asked him about it; he says he doesn't know what we're talking about.
