Mikayla sat with her legs crossed and a book open in front of her, a drink of red bull sat on the table next to her. The cafeteria of the school buzzed with students, but Mikayla wasn't really paying any attention. Her dark brunette hair fell into her eyes as she leered further over her book. “Bookworm” Luke teased sitting opposite her. Mikayla and Luke has been best friends since they was six. “Luke” she stated shooting the blonde boy a faint smile. “Did you hear?” he said excitedly almost bouncing in his seat.
Mikayla groaned shutting her book and taking a sip of her drink. “No what?” she asked. Luke cocked his head slightly, “new girl” he nodded his head in the direction of the Musicians table. A black haired icy blue eyed girl sat twirling a pair of drum sticks between her fingers.
Mikayla's heart began to race; but she knew she'd never get this girl to talk to her. “W-who is she?” Mikayla asked. Luke smirked noticing his best friends sudden interest. “That my friend is Izzie Daniels, an amazing drummer our year she moved from California” he stated. Mikayla watched the girl “Izzie” she mumbled, The girl caught her eye and stared back; Mikayla coughed and turned her head her cheeks flushing red. “I know you Mik; she's out of your league and in the wrong clique” Luke informed her. The brunette sighed “I know” she said softly downing her red bull and picking up her book again.
Luke sighed dramatically he had a feeling he was going to have to piece Mikayla's heart back together again, he flipped his blonde hair out of his eyes and glared in direction of the somewhat stunning girl. “Put the book away 'Kayla, I know you're trying to distract yourself” the blonde exclaimed putting his hand down onto the book. “I can't help it Luke..I never felt this just from a glance...I need to know why” she said standing up putting her books into her bag. She pulled her bag over her shoulder just as the class bell echoed.
Mikayla knew that Izzie Daniels was different; she caught her attention she had to talk to her, she just had too high school social rules be damned.
