Okay, so it's only a snow day for me, but that counts, right? It's not that I can't physically get to work, it's that I can't mentally get to work.
So I've decided to stay home (well, it's the kids' home, technically I'm homeless but they ex won't kick me out into the snow) and watch Farscape and look for jobs and move some files around.
So far today I have learned that a) Farscape is still really good and b) it is impossible to knock tons of wet, heavy snow off of tree branches without having it fall on your head. But I really love this tree, so it's worth it. I also saved the gorgeous red-leaved bush in the front yard. It was squished flat. The neighbor's tree was shedding branches as I cleared off my van. It really does sound like a gunshot.
I got to hand it to my van. A 1997 Caravan with 202,000 miles and a gamy transmission and oil leaks like you cannot belief and it starts all the time and can get through any snow drift.
Uh ho. John Critchton is in trouble!
Wish me luck and the powers of concentration on the job search and that my laptop decides to power up again someday.
