(Stolen From Stacy)

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Graduated college, paid rent, worked a "real job".

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make one this year?
I could probably look back to an LJ journal entry from last year...but I'm too lazy to do that. I most likely didn't keep any resolutions I made. This year my 2 resolutions are to floss religiously and to start weight training. I've been going to the gym a lot and I'm good with the cardio/classes, but not with the weights..yet. And my dentist gave me a lecture on flossing a couple of weeks ago, so that's fresh in my mind.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Thankfully no. I'm serious, babies just seem to cause trouble with my friends. As for family/people who are actually old and responsible enough to have babies..no to that either.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope, whew.

5. What countries did you visit?
France and England with Amy P on spring break.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
No debt (not gonna happen)

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory?
ah. My first show at SNL, the day Amy and I were on Spring break and got fined 20 Euros for breaking some sort of subway rule, graduation and getting totally wasted that night at Nevada's and throwing up at Nevada's and going back to Palladium and mouthing off to one of the guards, my last night at SNL/the after after party/going home to PA that next morning crying the entire way cause I was on no sleep and people on the train were loud and annoying...Ummm Halloween and doing Sarah Palin Karaoke brilliance with Mike, that one night Nikki Frankie and I hung out in PA and got super stoned and listed to a LOT of Garth brooks and quote a LOT of lines from Young Frankenstein....and yeah.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting a decent job in this ridiculous economy.

9. What was your biggest failure?
At the time when I didn't get the job in Atlanta it felt like the biggest failure, but now I'm sure it was all for the best.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing major.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
my crackberry

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My parents for putting up with all my shit, my roommate for being straight-up awesome.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
bernie madoff, obvi.

14. Where did most of your money go?
rent...but besides that, I'd say...no, rent/utilities is pretty much where all my money goes.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Interning at SNL, graduating, starting my first real job.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Single Ladies by beyonce...late in the game I know, but still made a lasting impression.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you
i. happier or sadder?
While I was happy last year, I think now I'm definitely more secure with myself/my individuality, and I'm more comfortable in my own skin, so I guess happier.

ii. thinner or fatter?
Thinner. I lost Almost 30 pounds this year...without even really trying. I guess that's what happens when you stop eating dining hall food, start going to the gym a few times a week, and grocery shop on a buget.

iii. richer or poorer?
Definitely poorer, not stressing it too much though.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Saved money? Ah, fuck it.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying and rushing things.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Well it's Christmas Eve right now and I'm watching old episodes of Road to Avonlea on YouTube, drinking a bottle of wine that was given to me as a present, and posting on LJ. You tell me.

22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Almost

23. How many one-night stands?
None...right, none.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Mad Men really stood out this year...I watch a ton of TV, but this show really blew me away.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Don't hate. Are there people who were in my life but aren't now? Obv. Don't hate, though.

26. What was the best book you read?
Since graduation, I've actually read a shit ton of books because I read on the train to work. I'm gonna have to say that my favorite was.....Jane Eyre.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Single Ladies by beyonce. I'm afraid I might be serious.

28. What did you want and get?
A job (maybe not my dream job, but a job)...a kick-ass apt, nicely-straightened hair (thank you, Chi.)

29. What did you want and not get?
A job in television (I'll get there!), a new computer (still saving up.)

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Rachel Getting Married

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Oh my birthday was tres lame. I was in the poconos and in super depression mode so I just went to Pbc with Jimmy and Jess. A few days later I went to the city and had a really nice dinner/karaoke with NYU friends, but my actual birthday was kind of a yawn. 22.

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
About a month ago my Grandma fell and broke her sternum. She's doing ok, but I would've liked it if that wouldn't have happened because she's old and frail already.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Professional, crisp (I love that word), adaptable depending on the setting.

34. What kept you sane?
My friends, talking to my parents almost daily, regular-basis sex (as long as we're being honest.), working out.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Tina Fey. Even though I've met her and she's totally real and everything she's still my idol.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
What pissed me off the most was that we let businesses get so out of hand that millions of peoples' jobs rely on just a handful of companies. I dont' know if that's political or what, but it pissed me off.

37. Who or what did you miss?
I miss friends that have moved away...Megan is doing Peace Corps in KZ, Ashley is in Germany...Stacy in the deep dirty south :-). I miss Steph now that she's moved back to Michigan, Shannon now that she's back in Iowa...of course I always miss my home-friends. I miss a living situation where I didn't have to pay any rent...but things are still good.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
My coworkers are an absolutely amazing group of people. We're all pretty close in age and it's just fun times all around. Without a doubt, they are a huge reason that I've stayed at my job for so long (6 months and counting!) They are funny - and I mean my kind of humor...ya know, dead baby and Helen Keller jokes...and just down to earth. As with other groups of people I've been involved with in the past that come to mind (dance company in high school, various clubs/organizations in high school, sorority, intern friends, RA friends) they just make the environment so comfortable and so much fun, and I'm really thankful for them.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
It's okay to have fun. Even if it means straying off the track for a little bit or going into a little bit of debt...it's okay to enjoy life.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"This one's for all you girls about 25, in little apartments just tryin to get by...livin on, on dreams and spaghettio's...wonderin' where your life is gonna go.. this one's for the girls" - Martina Mcbride.
