I'm back?

Dec 19, 2006 13:47

Wow, it’s been over a year and a half since I last wrote anything here! That makes it really intimidating to come up with something to write. Because why did I choose today to write again? I mean, what’s so special about today? Nothing, really. But in lieu of anything really fun, I will provide a little update on my life. This will be in list format, since I like lists.

1.Chris and I got married a year ago (Dec. 10, 2005). More on that later. For now, I’ll offer the trite but so true, "Marriage is great!"

2.My brother Jesse got married in June to my new favorite sister-in-law, Ashley.

3.My dad was diagnosed with GBM, the most common and most aggressive form of brain cancer, while Jesse and Ashley were on their honeymoon. One of the yuckiest and saddest times for me was meeting them at the airport and having to give them the news. I’m sure I’ll be writing about my dad plenty, but for updates from my parents (and pictures of our family), you can visit the website: www.caringbride.org/danboss. I love reading my parents’ posts. It’s funny, because never in a million years would they have started an online journal-and yet here they are, journaling as their primary form of communication with all the people who care about us.

4.Still working at Wycliffe in the IT department. Love Wycliffe, but not so much the job. I did, however, manage to get my boss to officially change my position title from Executive Secretary to Executive Assistant. I figure that’s the least I can do for the woman after me (and you know it will be a woman). I’m also making her a procedures manual, which is tons more than the woman before me did for me. And to answer your question, I don’t have plans to leave, but I’m not planning on staying forever.

5.There are significantly, SIGNIFICANTLY fewer roaches at Chris’ and my condo than there were in the Monster house. Even so, I still have a good roach story (don’t you worry).

6.Chris and I go to Summit Church, and we’re in a small group with a bunch of other young married couples. At first I wasn’t crazy about the idea, because I still have single friends, and I didn’t want to seem exclusive, but now I like it (the small group, not being exclusive).

Ok, I think that’s plenty for now.
