Potty Training...
Or "How to Run to the Toilet every half hour and plotz your child on it hoping to hear tinkle hitting the water in the bowl"
Ahhhhhh I thought I'd forgotten this lovely little chapter in a toddlers life. Sadly, its hit me full force in the face. I'm all for getting Gabby potty trained, the trouble comes in with my partner and the rest of the family. They think its just easier to slap a diaper on her butt and let her go. Nevermind its driving me slightly nuts during the day. I take her every so often, hoping she'll tell me when she's got to go, but usually it happens after the fact.
We did have success the other day when I put Gabby on the pot just after she woke up and left her there for a while. It made my day! Seriously, it was the only GOOD t hing to go right! The rest of the family thought I'd lost my marbles, again. But it was a big deal, unfortunately it hasn't been repeated.
Lord I hope she's pretty well done by September!! I'd like for her to go to Head Start and I doubt that will happen if she isn't at least partially trained. Lexi was no problem, once she got it, she had it, and she was almost 4 when she went to Head Start. Gabby's ready to go, just for the potty training. I suppose I should talk to one of the social workers and see for sure. I do know I have to get her a dental check-up before she starts too, and hopefully there hasn't been a lapse in our insurance. Your's truly fell on her face on that one, so if it gets farked, my fault!
