Seriously. Watch Parks and Recreation. It's hilarious, it needs help after being pushed back to midseason, and it put Rob Lowe back in government service. And it has Amy Poehler. And Nick Offerman as Ron F'ing Swanson. And Chris Pratt and Aubrey Plaza and Rashida Jones and Paul Schneider and Adam Scott from Party Down and really cool guests like Will Arnett and Megan Mullally and Louis CK (who NEEDS to come back. Seriously, Louis, I WILL PAY YOU CASH MONEY IF YOU COME BACK).

And if nobody watches it I will be a sad, because it's so amazing and lovely and sunny without sacrificing realism and stone-cold hilarity and spectacular physical comedy. Granted, some of the physical comedy comes from Offerman standing stock still for most of an episode, but it's still awesome. At this point, in terms of sustained, consistent funny, it leaves The Office, Community and 30 Rock in the dust, IMO.

I figure nobody's watching because civil service is so fricking unglamorous. But give it a chance. If you've liked Amy Poehler in anything, tune in to any three episodes in the flawless second season. You can watch the first season after the second, because much like Blackadder, Parks And Rec only got its mojo working in the second season. And much like Arrested Development, you need time - at least three episodes - to get in the rhythm of Parks and Rec. I recommend seeing the one-two-three punch of "Kaboom," "Greg Pikitis" and "Ron and Tammy," chiefly because those are the episodes I started with.

If you've never liked Amy Poehler, go back to Al Quaeda, you dirty commanist.
