Insurance is not covering the theft. My parents pay for my car insurance, and they only got enough to cover liability and medical payments. It's cheaper that way, but it was a bad decision in hindsight (everything is so clear in hindsight!). I needed a new(er) car anyway, so I'm just going to get a new(er) car as soon as I can. In the meantime, I have a rental car from Enterprise. They gave me an intermediate for the price of a compact and waived the "under 25" fee because they felt bad for me.
On to slightly more awesome things.
1. Last night, I saw
The Band From TV at the Autry Museum, and after the concert, Netflix, the sponsor, screened classic episodes of The Muppet Show, The Cosby Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, and classic Schoolhouse Rock cartoons on a huge, inflatable screen. It was one of the coolest things I've done in LA, hands down. I got to see House and Dr. Chase jam in person. Chase plays a mean electric violin.
2. I played beer pong for the first time after the concert. I'm laughably bad at it, but there are no losers in beer pong (a very subjective stance on the matter, I know).
3. I just went for a little walk/jog earlier and passed by a parked car with open windows. Inside, there was a guy singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" at the top of his lungs. So, I joined him. He smiled, we rocked out for a bit, and I walked away with a "I had to! I had to! Have a good night!" That was also one of the coolest things I've done in LA.
