Weekend then, worked at Contact Centre on Saturday - lots of people didn't turn up (due to half-term end I assume) so it was nice and quite. Got the bus over to see old sparklielizard and young Bethan who was very well behaved for her Auntie Amy. Lots of lovely baby-holding and chatting. Rosie guessed that I am having a girl from observing my personage but ( Read more... )

You're not too fat!! (icon is 22 weeks btw!)

  • Me at 19 weeks

  • Me at 19 weeks again

I can't say you look awfully larger than me! If at all. So there :-)

I never did get a maternity coat - fortunately it was summer and it didn't rain! Too damned expensive.

    Good luck for Dave :-/

    I know!!!

Bloody mothers, talk about trying to give me body issues! She said that she didn't start showing until five months but depending on how you calculate things I'm nearly there anyway. I know I am bigger than some people from seeing all stages at yoga and from people posting on FF but I'm easily within normal parameters.

Decided it was worth the money - hope I'm not disappointed when it turns up.

Yep, you're not far off 5 months. Technically (especially if you're slim - perhaps your mum was fatter!!) the uterus goes above the pelvic bones at 13 weeks, so you could genuinely (i.e. not bloating) show from then. Plus people show more or less depending on time of day, food eaten etc.

Coat definitely worth the money in winter.

btw, am now sorta considering Bromley when we move in 2-3 years time.. possibly! Which are the nice/nasty parts or are there too many to list in an online communication?

She was slimmer than me - as she takes pains to remind me on a regular basis.

    Bromley (borough):
Nice: Sundridge Park, most of Beckenham, Hayes, Locksbottom (no train station), the Palace Estate (near Bromley North), West Wickham OK, Chislehurst (more expensive but nice and villagey), Shortlands

Nasty: Grove Park, Turpington Estate/Bromley Common (no offence tga!), Downham, Penge, St Mary Cray, St Paul's Cray,

Happy to advise re specific roads if you ever get that far.

    Wonderful, thank you! :-)

I had a look on findaproperty and it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be down your way.. okay, it's still more than here, but it's surely a loads nicer area! Now I just have to convince Steve..

Move next door to my mum! That'd kill two birds with one stone as regards visiting ;)

From my point of view, the nicest part of Bromley is Bromley itself. I prefer the parts around Bromley North but Bromley South is more suburban. Beckenham (where my mum lives) can be quite smart in places but is also very dull. Orpington and Biggin Hill are pretty awful. Keston is nice but expensive and in the middle of nowhere. Don't touch St Mary Cray with a bargepole.

Brilliant, thank you!! Sorry for going all grown-up and surburban on you, but I bet you'd prefer it if we moved down that way rather than Surrey! ;-) I just want to live in a nicer area with greenery and less pikeys basically.

Well, you living in Bromley would be enormously convenient for me - I could visit and then stay over at my mother's. I wouldn't live there myself, but no one wants to live in the place they grew up. Well, except for Amy!

It's never been that I've mega-loved Bromley or was dying to stay living here, it's always been more about convenience and staying near to people and I guess because I never moved away to uni because I couldn't afford to.

I think I've said before on here that we want to be in Bromley now so we're near Dave's dad and sister (and young children) but we may well move further down into Kent at some point in the future - even if it's only so that we can buy somewhere a bit bigger. Then we'd be nearer my brother in Rochester and my Mum in Deal.

The Turpington Estate/Bromley Common isn't the greatest area of Bromley and it does have kids and whatever but most people leave you alone. I have been living there for 6 years and I have experienced one mouthy child that called me a goth for wearing a heavy metal shirt and this was cause I wouldn't give him a fag. He rode off on his bike. That was it. Never again anything. Yes, it's an estate but I can tell you with all my heart, it's not as scarey as where you are now and is a vast improvement.

Don't believe everything she says! :-)

But you look big and mean and tough! Steve has never had any problems round here either :-/

Not saying there is anywhere wrong with where you live or anything because I don't have a clue really!!

Oh yeah, my brother has been there for 10 years and has already gotten any grief either. My Mum never got any shit and it's fine.

    Ok, I will stop now!

Where I live is just fine!
