London hates me.
Last night my digital camera and watch (was connected to the camera strap) were stolen from my room in the hostel.

The only good thing is that my memory card containing all my pictures from Ireland was next door at the photo shop being burned on to a CD to mail home, so I still have all my memory and photos. The internal memory had a few snaps of London from yesterday - I wandered around a bit, saw Big Ben and the Parliament buildings, chatted up some war protesters in Parliament Square, and went to Westminster Abbey. You're going to have to take my word on that because there is no evidence, and I don't have the time or patience now to retrace my steps.

Yesterday's trip around London took me to 2 different offices for the Ghanaian HC - the first was closed at 1pm. and I got there about 30 minutes after, and the second could only gave me the forms I needed, but told me I had to go back over to the first place to have it processed, which meant waiting another day. Managed to make it to the right office today, literally in the "nick of time" after getting well lost in the wrong part of London. (Highgate Hill is NOT Highgate West Hill, Highgate Street, Highgate Place, etc. and caused much confusion between me, my map, various bus drivers, London underground ticket sellers...) Was able to get it done in about 20 minutes which was a huge relief considering I am flying out at 2pm. tomorrow!

Might just take a nap now and avoid the world and the likely possibility of anything else happening to me until my flight tomorrow afternoon.

Next update will be from Ghana but probably not for a few days after arriving.
NB: For those of you who were communicating with me via my mobile in Ireland, I should mention that I don't have it with me anymore. I still have the number though and will be using it again from August 31 - September 6 before I'm back in Vancouver.
