I like how interactive LJ can be. I made some great friends through here and it's sad that a lot of them have abandoned LJ for facebook and twitter (thankfully I'm still in touch with a few of the really good ones).
You can rest assured that I'm not going anywhere though. LJ is my one source of venting and ranting that I can do without anyone in my real life knowing (except for one person...)
(I only have one real life friend that knows about my LJ/has an LJ, but she never checks hers, so I definitely never feel the need to censor myself lol.)
Well you're kinda stuck with me missy lol. I'm sad to say I dont read my flist anymore because I'm subscribed to way to many coms. But I have my favorite journals tracked. Which us how I'm always up on your entries :)
I BETTER BE 'STUCK' WITH YOU!!! And I feel ~special that you track my entries ;)
(I had to leave a lot of comms because my flist was becoming unmanageable. I know there's a way you can filter whose entries show up on your friends page, but it never seems to work for me.)
Ahhh I completely agree! I actually like using LJ more as a reward thing, like I've been good all week let's go to LJ, or something. I'm sad a lot of the people I used to talk to all moved to Tumblr or just disappeared, but I guess that happens and you can't really control it, but I'm glad that you're one of the people who posts regularly! And I do enjoy your entries quite a lot! :D
LJ is for old people like us who like to read sentences ;)
I noticed and experienced that lack of interaction - due to not really reading the flist not as often as one probably could - too but I thought it was more due to the fact that many people 'grew up' and job/RL in general makes it hard to spend that much time and energy on LJ. For me it's mostly that I still read LJ, but I hardly post anything myself. =/ Of course there are also the people I used to know and who abandoned LJ for different reasons... which makes me really sad, especially if LJ was the main source of communication for us.

That could be the case for a lot; I just know that I've lost count of the number of people on my flist that posted something along the lines of "bye, follow me on tumblr/twitter/facebook". I tried those sites, but twitter makes me uncontrollably angry for some reason (all my tweets were bitchy rants, so I gave it up for my own sanity lol), I *fail* @ Facebook (I login maybe once a month) & I only 'use' tumblr to find graphics/gifs ;)
That's didn't happen on my LJ. I mean the announcing part. Some just disappeared and reappeared on those sites, but many gave up on the internet completely. I get that RL sometimes doesn't allow for much time on the net, but if disappearing means losing friends too... that's just really, really sad.
Twitter: I got an account but it's too much input for me. I don't have the time to follow all the updates. Facebook: There's mostly RL people over there and I never post anything fandom related. In fact I never post anything on FB that I consider private. Tumblr: I don'T have an account and I don't plan to. I only follow links once in a while. From what I've seen I can't say that I understand how it works ^^

How do you do that? There are a couple that get lost in the mix that I'd like to see more often.
