1. What did you do in 2024 that you'd never done before? Me and Em have been spending a lot more time with William and his daughter, so I guess being a little family of 4.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? No, my resolution was to read at least 20 books, but I think I only read 1.5, lol. I'll try again this year because I really would like to read more. But, I did finally get in better shape...I've lost 40lbs so far and I feel great. I'd like to lose another 25 and then we'll see. I could for sure stand to lose a lot more, but I think 25 more is a doable goal for my age and lifestyle.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No
4. Did anyone close to you die? Nope
5. What countries did you visit? None
6. What would you like to have in 2025 that you lacked in 2024? Not a lot, but I would like to travel more. We didn't get to go anywhere this year aside from a few trips up north. I'm really overdue for a real vacation.
7. What date from 2024 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? November 5th, both because of the election and William had a motorcycle accident. He's ok for the most part, but I took care of him a lot that week and it brought us even closer than we already were.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I guess just managing life, working, family, etc.
9. What was your biggest failure? I wouldn't say I have any failures, at least no major ones.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? No not really, aside from every day aches and pains of getting older.
11. What was the best thing you bought? My new car, a 2023 Traverse. It might be my last lease, I may buy it at the end of the lease, or I'll buy something else.
14. Where did most of your money go? My car, going out, eating out, life stuff.

Collapse )
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Every day with William
16. What songs will always remind you of 2024? (Give a random sampling). It's not a great thing, but that song by Shaboozey. It's catchy but annoying at the same time.
17. Compared to this time last year, you are:
More....Settled. William and I are out of our honeymoon period and have settled into our "simple and happy being together stage". And like I said, we each get along with our kids really well and the kids get along great, so we've been spending a lot of time together as a family and it's been really nice.
Less....Worrying.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Read
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Mindless scrolling of the internet
20. How will you be spending Christmas? We went to my stepmom's to celebrate on Sunday since they could not join us for Christmas eve. On Christmas eve, Emily, William and I went to my brothers and had dinner and opened presents. When we got home we just relaxed until Emily went to bed and I put out her presents and a goodbye message from her elves. I'm almost positive she doesn't believe in it anymore but still thinks it's fun. Christmas morning we woke up, watched her open presents and then William headed home. After we got ready, I dropped her off at her dad's for the week and I went to Williams and we had dinner at his parents house with the whole family. I stayed the night but I came back home this morning to work and I'll go back tonight and just work from his house tomorrow so I can just be there for the weekend.
22. Did you fall in love in 2024? I was already there.
23. How many one-night stands? zero
24. What was your favorite TV program? We just discovered Tacoma FD. It's hilarious.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Nope
26. What was the best book you read? I guess One of us is Lying. I started to read the sequel but my ebook was due back to the library. I did end up buying it, but I haven't gotten back into it, but it was pretty good.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? I like a lot of Kaleb Austin's stuff, and I've also discovered how great Nate Smith is.
28. What did you want and get? A very happy and content life.
29. What did you want and not get? Nothing, I've got everything I want and need.
30. What was your favorite film of this year? William and I saw Reagan at the theater, I really liked it. Oddly enough it's only the second movie we've actually gone to together. We discovered several romcom's that we hadn't heard of that were actually really cute and funny, but the titles are escaping me right now.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 45. William took me out for two dinners, one at Olive Garden I believe, and then on my actual birthday we went to Mexican Fiesta. We split the fajitas for two, we both got long islands. The food was amazing and the long islands were perfect, just enough buzz to feel good and relaxed, but not too much to get nuts and feel like crap the next day. It was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had and of course the company was great. We spent the weekend together and then that Sunday I went to my favorite Italian restaurant with my family for dinner.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? The only thing I can think of is if William hadn't had his accident, because I hated seeing him in pain, but there were also silver linings to it.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2024? Still mostly just comfortable, jeans and t-shirts, but I've gotten a few things that are a little more dressy and put together. Especially since I've lost weight, it's fun to buy clothes in a smaller size, and like the way they look on you. The only downside is all the cute clothes I bought last year are now way too big, but I guess that's a good problem to have.
34. What kept you sane? William
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I dunno, still love Joaquin but don't really care about celebs much right now. <---- same still
36. What political issue stirred you the most? The 2024 election.
37. Who did you miss? My mom, grandparents and Kayla
38. Who was the best new person you met? I'm not sure I really met anyone new this year.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2024: I guess just that good things really do come to those who wait. I could have been with someone who was nice, but just didn't do much for me attraction-wise. But I didn't settle, and I ended up finding an amazing guy who lights my soul on fire (in a good way of course, lol).
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: "Now I've had the time of my life, no I never felt like this before. Yes, I swear, it's the truth and I owe it all to you".
