Good news

I have some good news. Italian rights for Over and Over You have sold. When my agent called, I had one of those moments of silence that seemed to drag out forever, before I finally stammered something moronic like, "Uhhhhh, whaaaat??" Euros, Italy--one of my dream vacation countries, foreign agents; it was an interesting conversation to jump straight into from vacuuming and scooping kitty litter. A foreign rights sale has always been one of my biggest writing dreams, and I still can't quite believe that kids in Italy will get to read my book. Since the population of Italy is almost twice that of Canada's, maybe I'll sell twice as many copies there than I did here! (Canadian authors, hold your laughter).

Now I have to fill out tax forms that state I'm a citizen of Canada. I need to have them signed by Revenue Canada, and I have a feeling that's going to be easier said than done. Canadian authors who've sold foreign rights, is this something they'll give me the runaround about? Can I go to my local office?

I'm in a wicked mood today, and I can't seem to ditch it. And stupid, stupid me, Costco had Halloween candy on sale, so I bought some. Thunderstorm-moods and a box of 125 mini chocolate treats. That is a recipe for disaster.
