I heard the beginning of this one a few weeks ago. I had heard once long ago that a big reason people fear vaccinating their children is because of its supposed causes of autism. I don't know if they ever mentioned that. We still don't know WHY people are autistic, but the rates keep getting higher and higher and people keep trying to point fingers at every "unnatural" source, I'm guessing this is just another one of 'em.

Yeah, but I mean, people have been vaccinated for these hings for a really long time and only now are autism rates going up. I think a lot of the worry about vaccines and autism is that autism tends to show around the time that vaccines are given and that it could be a coincidence. The paper that initially cited vaccines as a cause for autism retracted their findings a long time ago. Also, I think the awareness of the disease has gone up a lot and testing has become a lot more sensitive because of that awareness, like, some children calssified as autistic today may have just been seen as a weird kid in the pat. I have a feeling that that has added to the increased the number of diagnosed cases in the past few years, but who knows...maybe there is something that children and/or their mothers are being exposed to today that is causing the big rise ( ... )
