(no subject)
Hello friends :) Court has been bugging me to update so while i have a little free time today i figured i would do just that :-D
Lets see, school has started as everybody knows. Ryane and I's room is so much fun, we are so creative and martha stewart-esqe so its great. Once i steal somebodys digital camera i'll maybe post some pictures of our little humble abode and i've got to send some to my australia friends as well.
Class reveiew:
Child and Adolescent Psych: Pretty easy class i think, its interesting anyways and we dont have a book which is always nice and we really havent had much HW yet other then to think up a topic for a group project.
Brit Lit: now this is the class i was super excited about. Lets just say it wasnt exactly what i thought it would be. Dont get me wrong i really enjoy reading the books and whatnot but the teacher is WEIRD which i guess i should have expected. Like if you can please picture what hobbits look like my teacher is the king of the hobbits. haha but ya he just like reads aloud to us from the book for 20 minutes every class and then we "discuss"... I'm also the notetaker for this class which i'm not sure how thats going to work cuz we dont really take any notes so i'll have to BS some. Oh and the kid wants his notes typed... GAYYYYY but atleast i get paid now for typing them as well as writing them in class. haha oh yes and david is in my class and its not so bad :) i kinda like it actually!
History: I'm taking a 300 level France since 1815 class with this teacher i had freshman year. I think i really like it so far. Hes a great teacher adn make the topic interesting and i'm a history nerd so i just get sucked in and the class flys by. Been taking a lot of notes though like so much that my hand hurts when i leave class.
Intro to Social Work: this class is good cuz the teacher is a fruitcake so its not very hard so far anyways. Supposably we're going to have a lot of guest speakers which is always nice especially since i'm interested in hearing stuff about the field of social work. Oh and Erin Daigle is in my class and its nice to have a friendly face so that we can make fun of our teacher together!
Woman Studies: Okay i love this class. My teacher is so amazing, shes just so smart and interesting and you can tell she really loves what shes teaching. I was wary of the class at first cuz i dont know much about it but i think i'm really going to like it. We are reading this interesting outside reading book about a holocost surviror and shes actually coming to speak the end of Sept. so that will be interesting.
Hmmm so ya i have a lot of homework but i'm handling it :) I'm glad i decided not to take 6 classes i think i would be shooting myself already. So good!
we had the E-board meeting for Habitat last week (I'm the treasurer) so that was fun for me too cuz i've never done anything like this before. I think i'm going to do a really good job cuz i'm very organized especially where money is concerned. But ya we have a lot of interesting builds this fall as well as preparing stuff for the spring. Should be good :) The advisors want me to lead an ASB group over spring break which is very flattering cuz its alot of work that they obviously think i can do a good job at. I just dont know though cuz it is alot of work and i'm already a busy girl. We'll see i have to think about it and decide in the next few weeks. *any thoughts are welcome :) *
Okay on to some fun stuff thats been happening at keene:
Ryanes 21st birthday was the tuesday we got back which was alot of fun! I didnt get to go out with them that night though cuz they went to a bar and me being not 21 i was not allowed buuuut thats okay my turn will come soon enough :) Thursday night Larrison, jeff and Courtney came up to visit, however i already had plans to play poker so i went and did that with David, (he won yay!)
On friday we decided we wanted to celebrate her birthday so we planned a fun little party for her in our room. Made the first trips to the liquor store and all that. Some girls from next door came by and a few of my old mpg-ers stopped by as well for a little bit. We whipped up some strawberry daquaries and i'm not gonna lie they were AMAZING. I've never had a real one before but this was good stuff! I think we are going to be the queens of mixed drinks cuz its just so fun to blend them right up and put different stuff in. So ya look forward to that :) Anyways we had invited over the apartment girls but i guess seeing as how there are so many of them and some boyfriends were up they didnt want to come over and get in trouble or something. A couple of miscommunications ensued which was just frustrating because people didnt ask what was really going on but whatever, whats done is done; basically our party ended up being just me, ryane and courtney hanging out in our room haha. We had some fun though of course! So finally things got straightened out and we just decided to head over to owls nest 3 to see what was up but they were just about winding down by the time we got there. So we hung out for awhile, I made courtney these fabulous pretzel earrings which hopefully she will post pictures of soon cuz they cracked me up. she was documenting the whole night which is why some of the pictures are so fricken random! jack playing a little guitar for us which is always a pleasant experience! He really is very talented, i cant wait until he busts out a CD and gets famous :)
Soooooooooo then we walked Callie home which really consisted of going first to Cumberland farms cuz courtney just had to have some icecream, really it was funny cuz she doesnt even like icecream that much but she just kept asking for it! adn then we hung out with callie back in holloway and court like passed out on her floor and ryane had to kick her and tell her to get ready to go and finally came home wicked late and crashed.

Hmmmm so what else can i write about in this lovely update... well, let me tell you about my weekend too! After we finally awoke on saturday we had some brunch adn then ryane and I headed down to connecticut to visit with her family for her birthday. It was really fun cuz they were all such very nice people and fun to play with! Her two little cousins are 4 and 6 and they are hysterical, we played in the pool and her grandparents house has a huge backyard and while we were eating deer came right up near the pool! I was really amazed by this and the little kid proceded to chase the deer away haha but it was so cool, i wish i had had my camera! Anyways, her Aunt Kate is a really funny lady, she made us drinks (vodka sprite and orange juice) and i'm thinking like okay a little vodka on the bottom nope right to the top of the icecubes, needless to say i didtn like the taste of that drink very much haha i'm such a wuss. But anyways she was really funny and i liked her too. So we stayed at her aunts house which is huge and has this huge backyard which used to have a horse and it was great :) Ended up coming back Sunday and then Ryane and I went adn saw Wicker Park which was pretty good i thought. I liked Josh Hartnett :) hehe
Soooo wow this is the longest entry ever and if you made it this far i'm amazed.
Oh! the red sox! They are winning games like crazy its so much fun to watch! I cant wait until the yankees series' in a few weeks that should be INTENSE. woooo hooo go sox !!!
Alright i should get going and do some homework yuuuuck. I probably wont get to update this all that often just because i'm so fricken busy but i will sometimes. Probably with huge updates like this. haha. Oh wellllllllll
Hope everyone has a good weekend! Oh and if you are in Keene, the drive in movie is Saturday night (remember last year, with the streakers? hahaha) but ya its Old School so if you're around its going to be in the quad or in the lantern room i think if its raining.
