Courtney Martin from the Women's Media Center was on The O'Reilly Factor tonight, and I think it's very hypocritical. She was talking about how he joked that Helen Thomas' voice sounded like the Wicked Witch of the East (which would be Nessarose, but anyway). They (the WMC) are posting about how people should write and complain about his words, yet it's completely hypocritical. They complain about what he said about Ms. Thomas, yet he calls them out over the treatment of Sarah Palin.

Bill: But Tina Fey can do it. She can do it because your group didn't say a word about it. You're a women's group! Where were YOU when Sarah Palin got the HELL kicked out of her by not only Saturday Night Live but every other main stream media. Where you YOU, madam, sticking up for Sarah Palin? Where?

Her: I think Sarah Palin has the equal right to have her policies (stammering, some other banter, my DVR wouldn't cooperate)

Bill: You didn't say a word and your group didn't say a word! You guys are hypcrites, you guys are phonies. You guys are being used by the left to do this nonsense. If you have defended Sarah Palin (he tells the sound man to knock the music off, they were going to commercial) I would respect you and I would say "You were right, and maybe I should apologize" but you didn't.

Her: [She tries to interrupt]

Bill: No, this is a left-wing play, that's what this is.

Her: Are you gonna let me speak?

Bill: Yes..

Her: The Women's Media Center defends every single woman's right to be critiqued in an equal plane with men, to not be taken for her appearance as opposed to what she should be taken for which is her..

Bill: Sarah Palin was criticized on SNL by her appearance, with her voice pattern -

Her: [interrupting again] SNL criticizes liberals and conservatives alike and we both know that.

Bill: You didn't say a WORD about anybody's attack

Her: [another interruption] This isn't about us Bill, this is about you falling into tired, sexist cliches about the most veteran reporter in America and she deserves an apology.

Bill: She's not getting one from me because I was definitely in bounds. You are a very courageous woman for coming on here. I do not respect your organization, I think you're being used, and I think if you look at what I'm saying, Sarah Palin's the best example.

Her: I'm a very smart person, Bill, I'm not being used.

Bill: If you are really in it for the women and you didn't object to the way that woman was treated, Sarah Palin, then you don't have anything to say anymore. So just think about it.

Her: I defend Sarah Palin's right to run and be taken for her politics.

Bill: You did not defend her in public, and if you can show me where you did, tomorrow night I'll apologize to you.

Her: All right!

Him: All right.

He's absolutely spot-on.
