Why, hello Winter!  Welcome to New Jersey!  We caught a glimpse of you a few weeks back, but it looks like you've decided to stay awhile this time.  In retrospect, I do appreciate the mild weather you've given us so far.   Even though I do believe it should be cold and snowy in winter, I also don't want three straight months of it.  I still see there is no snow in the forecast, so my only request is to send some of that white fluffy stuff down.

To celebrate the coldest day of the year so far, I'm giving myself a day off (unless, of course, my phone rings in the next half hour or so and I find out that the other girl blew off work yet again).  Yes, I know I just had a nice three day weekend.  And I know I probably should go to the commissary since today is the kids long day at school, but I don't want to.  So I'll point to the thermometer that reads 27 at the moment and relish in the thought of comfy clothes and a warm house all to myself for five hours today.

So yet again I started a fic in the middle of the story.  I was blindsided with an idea for a scene Monday morning.  It started out as a fanfic100 prompt fulfillment, but it has since grown into a full-fledged fic.  I was also only going to touch on a crossover, but when the plot started running away with itself, I realized the crossover could be expanded.  I'm very excited by the story, but I really need to go back and figure out how to start it, so I could actually post it one day.

I'm one of the few people in the country that bypassed all of the Fox hoopla this week.  No 24 and no American Idol for me.  I keep debating whether I should try 24, because practically everywhere I go I hear about how awesome this season started off, but I really don't think I can do it.  I then debated whether to at least put AI on last night, if for nothing else background noise.  But then 8 O'clock came and went and I was perfectly happy listening to music while I went on-line.  I then remembered how much of the show annoyed me, and how after Chris was booted last year I stopped watching it because I couldn't take it anymore.  Maybe once the twelve are chosen, I'll tune in to see what this year's crop is like.  But for now I'm perfectly happy to ignore that circus and wait for House and Bones to return.

eta: It looks like the day off is official.  And that Wendy's "2.99" commercial is evil.  {stares at remnants of double cheeseburger meal}  Yeah, ordering a diet coke with it made it so much less fattening.

american idol, real life, fic
