A Well Known Fact (5/7)

Summary: It’s a well known fact that Sean is a morning person and that Orlando is decidedly not.

Friday
It was a well known fact among their friends that Sean was a morning person.
Just because it was Friday didn’t make things any different. Except that Sean bypassed sitting at the table with his breakfast in favor of taking it into the living room and eating it in front of the TV while flipping through the various news channels in search of something interesting. It was one thing to be said about the States, they certainly didn’t lack for channels with talking heads on them. He was usually well past being done with his meal before Orlando made his first appearance of the day.
It was also a well known fact among their friends that Orlando was decidedly not a morning person.
This was especially true on Fridays. Friday nights were Orlando’s party night. Sometimes he convinced Sean to go with him but more often then not he went out by himself. This was usually an all night affair or an almost all night affair so he liked to rest up during the day on Friday in preparation. The only reason he dragged himself out of bed at all was because he knew that Sean would be waiting for him in the living room.
This morning it took him even longer than normal to make his appearance. He stumbled into the living room still in the boxers he’d slept in the night before. Like a four year old child awakened by a nightmare he appeared dragging his protective blanket with him. It was the blue fleece one that usually lay over the end of the bed.
“Morning.”
Orlando’s voice was a mumble as he shuffled across the room and plopped himself down onto the couch next to Sean. He curled himself up so that his head rested on Sean’s lap and his face was turned towards the TV, the blanket wrapped around him.
Sean waited until Orlando had gotten himself situated and then turned the TV up just slightly knowing that Orlando would complain in a few minutes that he couldn’t hear it if he didn’t. It would take Orlando a good hour before he was awake enough to comment on whatever news story the talking heads were going on and on about but once he was awake they would probably get into some heated debate about the things that were going on in the world which would end with them in an equally heated make up make out session.
That was still an hour away.
For now Sean was content to just wait running his hand idly through Orlando’s soft hair letting the images and the words fill the silence.
It was just your average Friday morning.
