Imported Fun
My brother and sister-in-law were here visiting all last week! Yay! It was great! I didn't get much sleep, but I got off work early everyday. I got gross bug bites on the 4th of July but the fireworks were cool. In California fireworks were illegal, and I guess technically they are here also but you can buy them at Indian reservations and everyone has them. So instead of watching one city-ran fireworks display I watched about a dozen private ones. It was a nice change.
The week before that my car broke twice. I had two completely unrelated problems. First one of my motor mounts broke and then my transmission went out. Luckily I have mechanically inclined men in my family and it all cost me a fraction of what it would have cost in a shop to get it all fixed. Good thing, too, because I'm still pretty broke. It all meant I can't buy a Nintendo Wii now, which I really want, but I still feel pretty lucky about the situation.
No dropping off the face of the planet, just a busy couple of weeks.
