Again, I'm going to have to go with a Kari-Lynn related story, I know it seems she is all I talk about, but I am so proud of her, and what mother wouldnt?! My greatest accomplishment is Kari-Lynn's first birthday, I did it, and all by myself. I am so thankful for all the help that got me to this point, and I will never forget everything, but being a single mom, and being able to do it is amazing and wonderful, I am a lucky woman to have this pretty little girl all to myself.
My journey to get here has been anything but ordainary. Obviously, nobody starts out planning on single parenthood, and if you read my back entries, you'll read about what got me into this situation. After Kari-Lynn's birth, it was all trial and error. No amount of practice with the children of friends and family can prepare you for motherhood. I started out planning to breastfeed, but when I found out that my daughter had a sensitive stomach and couldn't tolerate my breast milk, I had to revamp my whole plan. I started out planning to move into my own home in Montana where my daughter would have a nursery. I chose to move home to Arizona, and a year later, she is still sharing a room with me. I started out being all against co-sleeping with infants, but when you're a sleep deprived mother of a one month old child who will only sleep in your arms...you learn to cope. It's been an incredible journey, and I still have many years to come and I look forward to each and every moment I have with my daughter.
