"And it didn’t help that Gracie had gotten into playing those Nancy Drew computer games and insisted that he help her, because - and he had to admit - they were fucking terrifying at times."

Oh, god. That's so true. The Nancy Drew games always scared me, especially that dog one.

Great story!

OH, GOD, NO, THE LATEST ONE WHERE SHE'S IN JAPAN. Holy crap, scary. That ghost is literally a cross between the scary chick from the Grudge and the girl from the Ring who climbs out of the TV (neither of which I've seen all the way through because I'm too chickenshit to do so).

Anyway, I'm glad someone else here actually knows what the hell I'm talking about. XD lol W00t!

I haven't played any of the newer ones. The last one I got was where she's in New Orleans. Oh, god. Now I want to go buy the latest one. Though, I'd probably just be freaked out the whole time.

I'm always excited when I find someone else who has played them. :D

It really is awesome, but (like with all the other ones before it, especially the one where she's in Italy) you don't get so immersed in the culture of the place you're visiting. Like you get a few lessons here and there, and then you're done. You hardly even get to use the translation book.

I don't know, it's not my favorite one. My favorite is definitely the one where she goes to Italy (Phantom of Venice). And I don't remember the one where she's in New Orleans... is that the Final Scene? lol (I've played all of them in order, but they sometimes blend together). XD

I really like the one where she was in France (Danger by Design) because I felt like you actually spent time going around France and seeing French-type things. (I've never been to France, though, so I guess the game could have been completely made up in that aspect.)

Hm, I haven't played the Italy one. I haven't played any of the ones that came after the New Orleans one, actually. Oh, The New Orleans one is The Legend of Crystal Skull. I never finished that one, though. I got stuck and then I never picked it up again.

Now I feel like digging all of the games out and playing them. Talking about them brings back so many childhood memories, lol.

I've never been to France, either, but the game designers usually do a pretty good job at getting things accurate. And yeah, I did like being able to go around the different places and actually exploring.

Legend of Crystal Skull. Now I remember. XD I didn't like that one too much. :/ It was too..... I don't know; simple. And the puzzles in that one are a little tough, too.

W00t! Dig 'em out! :D They're so much fun; I've been replaying my favorites while waiting for the new ones to come out. My 2nd fave is Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon (just because you actually get to work with the Hardy Boys). :D They're there again in Creature of Kapu Cave, but if my memory serves me right, they don't help much. lol

Yeah, they definitely do do a pretty good job. Being able to explore was probably the best part about it.

Yeah, I got stuck on one of the puzzles and then just stopped. And you get to play as Bess, which was interesting.

Oh, god. I need to find them all. My room is such a mess. XD Once I've replayed them, I should go out and buy the new ones.

Yeah, I really liked Creature of Kapu Cave. I think you met them in Last Train and then played as them in Kapu Cave? I don't really remember. All I remember is that I was really excited when I heard that they'd be in the games.

I forgot about Bess in that game.... XD lol You can tell I haven't played that one in a while.

The new ones are... predictable. The puzzles are too easy, I think, and it's like they've just gotten lazy about putting things together and building up suspense. *shrug* But that's just my opinion.

You get to play as them once in Last Train, when you're forced to make burgers in the tiny diner in the town you stop at, but that's about it. They're mainly there to help investigate. lol I know! Frank and Joe are totally my favorite (especially in the show; Nancy's just... kinda retarded in the show lol).

Well, that's kind of disappointing. I saw that they restored one of the old ones, so that might be good. I hope they restore Stay Tuned for Danger. That was the first Nancy Drew game I played.

Oh, right! I forgot about that part. I actually love when you get to play as someone else. I get excited, lol.

Hm. I don't think I've ever seen the show. I remember seeing that it was on TV once, but I can't remember if I actually watched it.

Yeah, I really wanna get that one! It, of course, was the first one I've played (and my older brother actually played it with me, so that was fun), so I'm SUPER excited for it. I'll have to get my mom to purchase it for me. lmao

It's on the Retro TV network. Problem is it's only on once a week (at least where I live it is) and I'm always working when it's on, which is depressing. D:

Hahah, good idea. I should ask my mom to buy me one too. XD

Damn, I live in Canada, so I don't have that network. Maybe I can find it online...

I'm sure you can find it online. It's an older show, so it's incredibly cheesy. lol It's one of my favorites. XD
