Anniversary
Today is the third anniversary of Adam's open heart surgery. I remember it so well. I remember kissing his little head as I handed him over. I remember watching him being carried down the hall until it was not possible to see him anymore. I remember waiting, and getting occasional calls and updates on the progression of the procedure. I remember seeing him after surgery and being thrilled that he was PINK instead of dusky.
He went through some very dark days right after his surgery.
I look at the healthy, smart, beautiful boy that he has become and I am filled with emotion and grattitude. We really dodged a bullet and I am always especially aware on this day.
