41) Seduced by Virginia Henley

42) To Tame a Duke by Patricia Grasso / Historical Romance
Description: When his cousin Sloan reports the death of his older brother, James Armstrong seeks revenge upon the colonists who hung his brother. The Gilded Lily, a code name for an American spy, is responsible for the death of the 13th Duke of Kinross. Now the 14th Duke, James sets off across the oceans to kill his brother's murder. Kidnapping the man from a tavern, he's shocked to learn he's a she.
Eighteen-year-old Lily Hawthorn, daughter of a tavern owner, uses her remarkable gift of memory to aid the American cause. She disobeys her fiancé for an assignation at a tavern, little suspecting the danger she walks into. A man bent on revenge kidnaps her and her eight-year-old brother. When he realizes she's a woman, he takes her aboard his ship, planning to hold her in England until the war's conclusion. His revenge takes a different direction when he decides to make her fall in love with him, so that he might simply break her heart. A hollow victory indeed, if his own heart gets broken as well.

Me: I thought this book was fairly good. It’s the book before No Decent Gentleman, which is one of my favorite books by this author. I thought To Tame a Duke was pretty funny, and I liked how Lily was the “Gilded Lily” a spy for the Americas in during the war of 1812.

43) Do You Take This Child? By Marie Ferrarella

44) To Tempt An Angel by Patricia Grasso
Description: She is Angelica Douglas, the Countess of Melrose. Driven to poverty by the men who bankrupted her father, forced to support her family with skillful cheating at cards and dice, she yearns for revenge. And she is not above enlisting the aid of a chivalrous, handsome stranger to get it…
He is Robert Campbell, Marquess of Argyll, heir to the Duke of Inverary. Intrigued to learn his own father is one of her intended victims, he decides to keep a careful watch on the enchanting Angelica. His desire for her is a most unwelcome complication, for the tragedies of his first marriage taught him all too well the damage that love-and its lack-can do. But when danger begins to stalk them both, he realizes that the best way to protect the stubbornly independent thief is to marry her. Now all that remains is to tempt an unlikely angel to be his bride…

Me: This is the first book with the Douglas sisters. I love this book. It was hilarious, yet sad, as many of Grasso’s books are turning out to be. However, I thought it was too similar to VIOLETS IN THE SNOW, even down to the fact that Robert had a daughter (Daisy) through his mistress, Lucille DuBois. I still enjoyed this book, because Angelica and her sisters were interesting, and the love scenes were really good.
