(no subject)
So, computer seems to be doing a bit better.
Took her in yesterday. The guys reckon it was the UPS, as opposed to the power supply that was causing the voltage overuse. Basically, the UPS was old and couldn't handle the new computer and it's power consumption... or.. something.
Anyway, since we needed a new one anyway, Dad bought me a new one for christmas.
The internet was still messing up. Basically, something was sending/receiving data because my little internet connection icon was always lit up - even when I wasn't anywhere near the computer dl/ul anything. So, after a bit of detective work and whatnot, we found the culprit - a trojan. So, Dave was able to help me get rid of it as well as from my registry. Yay.
I'm still having slight problems with things slowing/locking up, but I can deal with that. Basically, pages will lock for several seconds - 30-1 min long, then start up again.
At the moment, I'm working on a picture to present to a meeting tonight. In february, my town/council is having it's 125th celebration, and they want me *glares at them, at least used to be*, to paint a Welcome sign.
I hate drawing koalas.
I know I have at least 1-2 projects in my hand. Yes, it seems since I've been gone, word has got around as to how much $$ I got, and now everyone wants a go x.X oh well...
Anyway, once I get them out of the way, and $$, I think I may look into a laptop... perhaps. I don't know. If my computer is finally working by then/getting ready to move to USA, then I'll forget it, but eh, I could do with one, and so could Dave... though a new bed would be nicer too, or a fridge...
