this weekend was awful....went to band on friday, then left for our trip to kansas city right after, which meant that i had i miss my history lecture. but on the way to wichita, i wrote my anal. listening paper that was due today, so that made the trip much faster, and i slept for a couple hours too and watched someone's pirated edition of Team America...definitely a winner. so we got to wichita, checked into the hotel with a talking elevator, and we drove to a high school to perform at their halftime show. it was sort of to recruit people, and for publicity. their band was so cute...it only had 29 people, including the 3-piece drumline. they were so sloppy, it was just adorable. anywho, their football teams were sort of funny...i've never seen such lucky plays...lots of hopping over each other and doing little dances to get out of a tackle. and since we weren't there to support a certain team, we had to cheer for both sides which was pretty akward...for example, we couldn't do the defense cheer, it had to be defense! offense! defense! offense! the show went pretty bad too because they have high school hashes (obviously) so everything had to be shifted 4 steps. blegh. i remember having to deal with college hashes in high school.

the next day we had to get up at 5 in the morning to drive to manhattan for the game, and the people there just weren't very nice at all. their band was, but bands have to be nice. apparently missouri has the rudest and most physically abusive fans, but kansas wasn't bad at all. im getting really sick of standing for the entire game, especially when the huskers suck so bad. i just want to curl up and cry and hide my face. but my band uniform would give away the fact that im from nebraska. shit. but yeah, we suck really bad. i wish i was in band like 10 years ago when we were good. so much for a legacy....meh, atleast the drive home was quick and i caught up on sleep.

work was awful yesterday...we were steady the entire afternoon which is rare for a sunday, but i guess its because the weather was so nice. drive-thru gave me such a headache that i swear i could've had blood spouting out of my ears at any second. it was as bad as a friday night, only we were missing one or two people, since sunday nights are rarely busy and we usually end up sending people home early.

im cutting my hair short again tomorrow....i've decided i don't miss long hair. AT ALL. its such a pain to care for, and honestly, what reason do i have? im not going to swim anymore except for dollfins, and even then, im not performing. and marching band is almost over...i can deal with 10,000 bobby pins for two more shows.

today in analytical listening i realized what the term "remote control" actually meant after he started talking about remote keys. i was like, wow....remote...control....you remotely control the television. i considered it an excellent revelation, even though chris and paul made fun of me...so what if i've been alive for 18 years and just now noticed it???

hmm i also just got back from my first rehearsal with my accompanist, FINALLY. his name is bill carpenter...he's a really nice guy, maybe in his mid 50's i'd say. he helped me out a lot of with the ornamentation of my sonata which was awesome, and i had the privelege of having my toes licked the entire time by his 4 month old golden retriever.
