so here i am, finishing my last cigarette of the day... i start classes tomorrow and my sister comes in. she's staying a little over month. maya, michael's friend, got here on sunday and will be here until next wednesday.
that's been really fun!! after picking her up and getting some food, we hiked around in the evergreen woods. then had an impromptu cookout that night. we had bison skewers with two kinds of mushrooms, garlic, and onions. SOOO good. i marinated the bison two days beforehand with a balsamic vinegar, olive oil and strawberry blend intended to be used as a salad dressing, plus more balsamic vinegar and a bit of merlot. for the onions and mushrooms, i marinated them briefly in a bragg's amino acid/balsamic vinegar mix. mmmmmmm.... we also steamed asparagus on the grill and made friends with a squirrel.
it's been really freaking hot out here lately. it's been SOOOOO nice. somehow i feel more relaxed and productive. yay! after this past excruciatingly long harsh winter, i am truly grateful. although it would be nice to get some storms, though ;D
i'm getting really excited for class tomorrow; i'm having a hard time getting sleepy. so to bid my time earlier, i made myself some food for tomorrow: a cheese/red onion/stone-ground mustard/three kinds of greens sandwich, cut up carrots/apples/radishes, threw in some dried apricots, strawberries, and a hardboiled egg. hahaha, i hope it's enough. i also hope it keeps well enough. everything is just loose in a paper bag except the sandwich. reading that herbal medicine making book alerted me to the fact that plastic will quicken composting/disintegration so i wanted to keep that to a minimum ... especially with the heat as of late... using two paper bags should also help it from getting gross. hahaha, but we'll see. i think i will invest in a good insulated lunch bag with a small ice pack to use in the future, though.
i even have tomorrow morning's activities planned out: shower, oats, tea, nasal cleanse, and some stretching.
and did i tell you i started flossing? yeah, it's been great. i started to have gum issues... and i figured if i went to a dentist i'm sure the first thing s/he'd recommend is flossing... sooo i tried it out and within two days, i don't have the sore gum issue anymore. i just gotta keep it up i guess! that sucked so bad.... hahaha so happy it's gone!
