Death
Death
It found me one day, during
a rainfall. Water in my face, dripping
down to my dress. My feet caked
in mud, strangers all around.
Watching me, waiting.
Oblivious to their shadows, I move
foreward, unguarded this time.
Silence befalls around, and only the sound
of thunder shakes my mind.
My heart is pounding, pressing
as it quivers because something
is waiting.
Hit from behind, the face of death
goes unseen.
I fall.
I fall and become
still with eyes wide open.
Staring.
