I just bought a Mac m'self. I use my 'puter exclusively for writing, some light graphics working and music and, for those three things, so far it's pretty cool. Plus, much more stable. But if you're in love with your 'puter already, there's no need to change it completely. I mean, you can get the hard drive cloned or something, can't you? I'm sure that's possible. Move your current files and their current layout on the hard drive to a new one and maybe just update the wonky bits of your current PC. It's what my dad does. He's still got an old portable he bought back in 2000 but he's updated every bit at least once or twice :)

Ouch! *winces* sorry to hear you lost all your stuff, no chance of finding the files? Don't know much about Mac's at all, got a Dell PC myself, but if the computers going mad like that perhaps yourmotherboards on the way out?With Jan sales coming up might as well take advantage *hugs* Have a good new year!
