Day 1 of....too many
So today I was doing pretty good
I was bummed, but getting along o.k
And then DJ got on myspace
and was commenting/messaging me
He was at the military lounge in the airport at San Diego waiting for all of the other guys flying in for boot camp, and got a chance to get onto a computer.
And then he dug up whatever change he had to call me on a pay phone
And then I cried, and felt sad and lonely
But I was happy I got to say good bye one last time, and we got to tell each other how much we missed each other, and how proud I am of him.
So I was sad/happy/proud/blah
He warned me that when he gets to boot camp and gets his 15 second phone call that I wont be able to get a word in, and that he will have to read off a scripted message.
I was thinking he was just going to call and be like "Hey, Im here, I'll write you soon"
Yeah...nope!
He called me around 8:50 p.m and I answered the phone to him speaking hella loud and fast! he sounded like a Marine already!
It went something like this:
"HELLO AMY THIS IS RECRUIT DONALD BURTON. I AM JUST LETTING YOU KNOW I HAVE ARRIVED SAFELY. MY GRADUATION DATE IS MAY 8TH. THE NEXT TIME YOU WILL HEAR FROM ME WILL BE A LETTER IN THE MAIL WITH MY ADDRESS. GOODBYE AMY."
There was more to it, but he said it so fast I honestly can't remember it all. A few hours before that he was being all lovey and saying he was ready to come home, then BAM! It was like instant military lol You could hear the D.I's yelling in that background too, that was pretty intense.
But the weirdest thing is, I thought I was going to be upset after that phone call, but all it did was make me extremely happy and proud! I guess I feel like now everything is finally starting. Sure after boot camp is over 3 months from now, there's still 5 months of school, but then we get to live together, and start our lives together!
Im just really really proud of my hubby :)
