First let me say that today is a lazy day for me. I was planning on only going to do laundry at mom's house and then heading home. I have on only the makeup that was still on my face after sleeping on the couch over night - which yesterday was nothing but a light foundation - and I have not washed my hair since yesterday so it looks a little flat and blah, not to mention it needs to be dyed so my roots are out and I have a lot of grey right now.

Anyway.

I stopped on my way home at a little shopping center in Arlington just to browse around in the stores. I was a little pissed off at the snotty attitude of the little teenagers working at this one store, so I was coming out of there in that pissy stomp that I do so well (and sprained my ankle doing once).

I noticed two women headed my way, so I was trying to pay attention to where they were so I wouldnt run them over. I thought the older woman looked familiar, but I was planning on not trying to figure out who she was. I always see people who look familiar and then realize later that they shop at my store, or they shopped at my store 10 years ago when I was in retail somewhere else.

I get really close to my car and I hear "Oh my God... Amy!" I turn to look back at these ladies thinking maybe the older one recognized me because I didnt recognize the younger of the two, and I realize the one who is speaking to me is the younger who turns out to be Katherine who I worked with at my first retail job ever and who I have not seen since 1997 maybe.

She has gone very blonde with her hair. She was out shopping with her mother. I stopped and chatted with them for awhile. She is married now and lives in Burleson.

Katherine is the sweetest little thing I have ever known in my life. She has one of those extremely bubbly personalities you only see in movies. She has the biggest blue eyes in the world.

When American Idol first came on the first year and Kelly was on, I always said that Katherine should be in her place. Katherine had such a great voice and she loved to sing. And she looks SO MUCH like Kelly. Its actually a little weird.

She is still the sweetest most wonderful little thing ever. She kept telling me how great I looked and how wonderful it was to see me. She kept repeating "Oh my God! You are so fun! This is so great!" We exchanged phone numbers so we can get together some time.

friends, shopping
